What Happened to James Bond?

American Greatness: It’s a pity what has become of James Bond. The womanizing secret agent is unrecognizable as a respectful, sexless dad in “No Time To Die,” Daniel Craig’s final act as 007. It’s a fitting and merciful end for Craig, who has been turning Bond into a vulnerable sad boy since “Casino Royale.

Director Cary Joji Fukunaga hinted at how badly “No Time To Die” would turn out when he described Sean Connery’s original version of 007 as a “rapist.”

Fukunaga’s agenda is all over “No Time to Die,” which might well have been titled “No Time for Hanky Panky.”  more

  1. No interest in this one but eventually i will watch it and most likely regret it.

They absolutely are ruining everything lately.

As well, how can you believe in Heroic Spy Stories in these times when the government is at war with its own citizens not real enemies.

Spies spy on their own countrymen…

  2. Hubby and I saw it last week.

I liked it but couldn’t understand why they chose the actress that plays the “new 007”. Not to be unkind but she’s not pretty, she’s got a strange figure (no bosom, thick waist and big hips, big legs) and she is not graceful or convincing in the fight scenes. She’s not even a good actress. The current Moneypenny made sense. She’s stunning, can act, demonstrated skills convincingly. How they dropped the ball this time, unless they’re saying it’s time to elevate unremarkable people….

    My list:
    Connery
    Moore
    Dalton
    Craig
    Lazenby

That said, I enjoyed all of them in some way or another.
I haven’t seen the latest but I will eventually.

PS, Cubby Brocoli must be churning in his grave.
Why would his daughter Barbara hire a fuckstick woke director or writer?
    AAArrrggghhh!

  4. They zapped him. I think no more James Bond unless the rights to the character are sold.

I think Roger Moore was the best 007. Octopussy is probably my favorite Bond film. The scene where the bad guy (in a turban) jumps out of the plane (which goes on to crash) with the only parachute – Bond catches up with him in the air and wrestles the chute away from Mr. Turban, who falls to his death. I thought it was funny as heck, but wondered about the risks involved in filming it. I believe it was done with stuntmen and not special effects, but I may be wrong.

Another memorable scene is the character played by Louis Jourdan who plucks an eye out of the sheep’s head served to him at dinner and eats it.

Will she be as horny and sexually aggressive as James Bond? Will she go after men, women, or both? Animals like horses and donkeys? Gerbils? Ben-Wa Balls? Maybe she can open hearts and minds, but to whom will she open up her legs? These questions need answers Larry. Put your imagination to work.

  6. Connery was Bond. The rest of them? Craig did some good shit beyond Bond.

The rest of them I know nothing about.

Everything has become about car crashes, explosions, and evil fucking robots. Tiresome.

I’ve wrecked motorcycles and cars. I have no desire to see that.

  7. How about the last scene in the last James Bond movie: Bond is getting a blowjob from vice president Kamala Harrs: he winks at the screen, taking a puff on his cigarette. Fade out.

  8. Pierce Brosnan was terrible, but not as bad as Timothy f’n Dalton. Ugh. Connery and Craig are my favorites, although I like Moore’s attitude the best, I think. I haven’t seen the others.

  9. Re: Dalton: they never should’ve tried to cast an American as a Brit – they can’t pull it off. I feel the same way about casting Hallie Berry as Storm in the X-Men movies. The Storm of the comics was royalty, and American black women – although they CALL themselves “queens” – canNOT pull off the actual regal person a necessary to play the role. They just end up being overbearing and masculine. NOT the same as being regal.

If you get the Delux Versions of Bond they have all the behind the scenes and stunt work. These are really cheap dvds at amazon.
And yes that scene is with stunt men. My favorite was the skier going over the cliff in the opening. The openings were sometimes the best part of the movie.
Loved the mini airplane flying through the hanger opening too.
