Doctors Warn New Medical School Guidance Would Lead to Unqualified Physicians and Unscientific Medicine

WFB: The two accrediting bodies for American medical schools now say that meritocracy is “malignant” and that race has “no genetic or scientific basis,” positions that many doctors worry will lower standards of care and endanger lives by discouraging vital genetic testing.

The Liaison Committee on Medical Education, which accredits all medical schools in North America, is cosponsored by the American Medical Association (AMA) and the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC)—the same groups that on Oct. 30 released a controversial guide to “advancing health equity” through “language, narrative, and concepts.”

Those concepts include the ideas that “individualism and meritocracy” are “malignant narratives” that “create harm,” that using race as a proxy for genetics “leads directly to racial health inequities,” and that medical vulnerability is the “result of socially created processes” rather than biology.

Integrating these ideas into medicine, five professors and practicing doctors told the Washington Free Beacon, would be a catastrophe, resulting in underqualified doctors, missed diagnoses, and unscientific medical school curricula. more

  1. On a similar note, I read a few months ago that in Oregon they’re now allowing anyone who is 18 and can pass a background check can now substitute teach because they’re hurting BIGLY for subs. You don’t even need an education. Yeah. That’s gonna work out great when they’re thrown to the wolves without ANY training or advanced education. How does it feel to have all your hard work and efforts to get your degree(s) cheapened by the powers that be teachers? I’d be PISSED.

  2. ‘…race has “no genetic or scientific basis,”’

…also, setting aside my Squad patients, just in my years as an electrician I’ve had three heart patients in the plant.

    All were male.
    All were Black.

Outcomes were one got heart drugs, one got a shiny new heart valve, and one died.

There was a actually a forth one I knew about, but since he had his heart attack in the car while driving to work and only his terrified passenger kept there from being casualties in other cars, I didn’t have a lot to fo with that one other than I knew and respected the guy, and he seemed pretty fit.

    He was ALSO Black.

…of course I saw old White dudes a lot in the Magic bus, heart problems and other vascular problems like strokes and aneurysms were again weighted pretty heavily towards Black men.

It’s not racist to notice this as a known factor in the medical community. In fact, a Black man should know his race makes these problems MORE likely, because knowing that may save his LIFE.

…the only way to make this “racist” is to pretend the disparity doesn’t exist.

You know, like Democrats want to do.

    …just sayin’…

  3. ‘…meritocracy is “malignant”’…

…because I’m MUCH more worried about the skin tone of the guy I’m literally trusting my.LIFE to than whether or not he actually knows what the fuck he’s DOING…/s

  4. BFD. I’ve lost so much respect for the medical profession as far as I’m concerned we’d all be better off going to you tube. Admitted w/pneumonia, Covid. For 5 frickin days they tried to talk me into taking a med that destroys kidneys, then liver, then lungs. Death by heart attack. They all denied Ivermectin and HYC were effective. Effem. Losers.

  5. Our medical system is good for one thing, taking care of trauma. They’ve been compromised otherwise and only deal in pedaling pharmaceuticals to control symptoms or offering an unnecessary amount of vaccines that all can cause horrible side affects. If you want a real doctor you have to go to a natural path that can’t take insurance and you’ll find what you might have experienced 30 years ago. Doctors that treat your issues with diet and lifestyle changes and try to find the root cause and eradicate the issue naturally. And it won’t change as long as pharma runs funds and runs it all, is allowed to pay doctors kick backs for prescribing drugs, and are allowed to market the way they do both to the public and to doctors, and are allowed to fund the FDA, CDC along with have a revolving door between all their organizations.

  6. The dumbing down of medicine. About 10% of my medical school class flunked. All but one were affirmative action admits. Since I graduated 45 years ago they have only made the situation worse. I don’t care if colleges want to dumb down with equity but medical schools? God help us.

  7. To add to the concern over having your doctor hamstrung by political correctness in any diagnosis or prescription the number of incompetents who are there for no other than affirmative action will go up drastically.

Have I mentioned the progressive movement is totally invested in increasing innocent human suffering, misery and death? There is absolutely nothing they advocate for that does not have this inevitability built into it. Increased innocent human suffering, misery and death is not an unintended consequence of their policies. Increased innocent human suffering, misery and death is there by design and are the motivation behind everything the progressive movement advocates for.

I gave up when my primary retired because of Obamacare, then they fobbed me off on a young guy who, on my last visit for a checkup, had his peasants inaccurately take vitals, then came into the room only when I told him I was on the table away from the door, after which he entered in gown and N95 and grinding face shield complete with surgical head covering and yelled questions at me from the furthest corner of the room, and wanted to make any other ‘visits’ Telemedicine.

    Haven’t been back since.

…although I DID consider going the ‘telemedicine’ route just to take off my pants and straddle the camera to ask him to check my anus, but I rejected that idea because A) he’d probably actually be UP for that and tell me to do a prostate self-exam, and B) it would be REAL difficult to explain to the wife why I was naked from the waist down and spreadeagled over a phone camera with my finger up my butt, if she were to walk in for some reason…

  9. Medicine was never particularly ‘scientific’, and now it is not worthy of trust.
Political agendas, profit motive over ethics, obedience to administrators who determine therapies. Gee Wally, US “medical practice” is FUBAR.

Thanks obama (with the able assistance from Nancy “hellbound” Pelousy!

  10. The multitudes of them are now unqualified since they kicked to the curb ‘do no harm’ and hippa confidentiality laws. I have no use for the underhanded sadistic slobs.
