Escape To a Good State—But Don’t Ruin It

Twenty years ago, it was hard to see any major difference in government from one state to another, except perhaps in the prevailing tax rates. But now it’s obvious.

  1. This is all something my wife and I are on board with. But really, where can you go and have an expectation that the libs won’t go there too and ruin it. Hell, we lived in Alaska, who would have thought that they would go there? But there they are, trying to ruin the Great Land. If a bunch of us were to move to the outskirts of hell I bet the libs would fight to beat us into the center of hell. At that point I’d let them have it.

  2. n AR/s MO are gorgeous with a relatively mild winter and only a couple sweaty months in the summer. Very nice climate and a low cost of living. The people are great and conservative. The state governments are sensible(as far as a government can be) No big cities around. Very rural. No diversity either.

I only moved to WA because my gal is not in the best health and she has her various doctors all dialed in. Plus the move itself would have been really tough on her. The state government here is fucking out of it’s mind, Inslee is insane. The Republican Party here in Clallam County is fucking worthless. They’re content to be permanent doormats.

I’d move back to n AR or s MO in a heart beat. Next summer we’re going to take a road trip and I’m going to show her that part of the country.

  3. In Florida it seems that all of the people moving to our State are freedom loving citizens escaping from the communist death democrat states. What is a very encouraging fact is that since this flood of Blue State citizens have moved to the Free State of Florida, registered republicans now outnumber registered communist death democrats for the first time in over 20 years. Go Governor DeSantis!

  4. Nihilistic totalitarianism (what’s commonly referred to as “leftism” or “fascism”) is a disease. And diseases attack healthy cells/organisms. Satan revels in destruction – in corruption – in rot. It’s all he has – and make no mistake – he is Master of these perverted, corrupt, lying hypocrites.

  5. We moved to TN from IL 7 years ago. Granted, we’ve moved around alot (OH, VA, NC, GA). It was so peaceful and beautiful 7 years ago.

It’s about time to leave TN. Too many from IL, OH, NY. Knoxville is starting to feel like Atlanta. People knocking on the front door asking to buy our house…. for twice what we paid for it.

Our taxes just went up. From 1200 to 1500. When we lived in IL they were 6500 for half the property we have here. This is sheer madness….

  6. Maine used to be pretty middle of the road.
The southern part of the state has been invaded by people from MA, NY, CA, NJ and is now a frigging mess.
Portland has become a small version of liberal sh**holes.
    They’re ruining the landscape too.
    Ugly azz buildings everywhere.
They’re getting an 18 story apt building with no parking.

Thankfully Ptld is now ticking off So. Ptld. (Different town altogether) by sending illegals and homeless people to fill up our hotels. Crime is up over here by over 1500% and our cops are mad and leaving.
NH is having similar issues with leftists moving there.
Including friends of ours who went there from NJ and think they’re well informed because they read the NY Times cover to cover every Sunday.

  8. Here recently we’ve had some move in who escaped their commie states and were conservatives trapped. That hasn’t always been the case though, Californians and New Yorkers have been the absolute worst. They are what turned many towns to libtard towns.
We had one move to our rural community several years ago, they whined constantly about hearing gunshots, about hearing cows, goats, pigs and chickens. After being told many times to go back to where they came from after about a year they sold their place and left.

  9. Please don’t Californicate Eastern Washington, N. Idaho and Western Montana, we already have enough of you up here. The Winter of 2008-2009 when we had a Snowpocalypse and got 3-4 feet of snow a week before Christmas in 08 chased away a lot of people from California away from here. My new neighbors lasted that one Winter and then moved back to California, they couldn’t handle our snowy Winter that year. We’re used to it so stay put and go somewhere else.

  10. NC isa great example of a formerly good state ruined by Yankees. we should built the border wallwith VA 40 years ago, but didn’t.Now they have guvner stupor to show for it!

  11. Geoff, we’re hoping for low temps and tons of snow in Maine so the out of staters and illegals leave.
We’re off to a good start. 17 this morning.
The illegals will hate it. Two weeks ago when it was in the 50’s they had winter coats, hats and boots on.

Wherever you go there you are. Politics change every 4 years. Running off to another state to make it better is long gone. People are free to move around, and free to take their politics with them. My sister fled to Texas and she swears she’s still living in CA. Don’t watch what they say, watch what they do. Sister said they acted too hastily to get out of CA, they would have picked a different State. I pointed out that there is no shang-ra-la.

  13. P.S. It was a costly mistake as well. $400,000 house, $100,000 in repairs, undisclosed problems with the house, bad neighbors……wherever you go there you are. She should have rented an apartment, lived in the area for a while and then decide if it’s a fit. Too late now…Welcome to Texas!

  14. @ Hoo Hoo Nay Nay, yeah, Knoxburg is rife with a left leaning population and Murvull (Maryville) is starting too feel like Knoxville. You’ve probably seen the monstrosity of a warehouse that Amazon is building just off Hwy 129 and Pellessippi. That deal is the product of some shady deal struck between the city and Bezos (tax break) with renewed efforts to purchase a large tract of farmland to put a micro dense development in. Our Consevitive county is being colonized by Californicators.

  15. Last week when we had record high temperatures near 60 in E. Wash. and N. Idaho I wore only my long sleeved flannel shirt and no coat, it was a great day and was 63 degrees over in CDA, Id. that day. This week is a different story, it’s cold in the low to mid 30’s and we saw our first snowfall on Monday. When I was stationed at NAS Miramar just N. of San Diego during the Winter of 1975 the temperatures got down into the 30’s and some of the higher elevations East of there had a rare snowfall of maybe 1-2 inches of snow. The locals were wearing Winter coats and I was wearing my dungarees with a long sleeved shirt under it and to me it wasn’t a big deal but to them it was almost a panic because they’re not used to cold weather down there.

  16. I’ve noticed most people moving here are expats returning after experiencing the insanity in paradise so they know what real winters are like.

As my parents said, grow where you’re planted. I ignored that adivce for 5 yrs but came back 30 yrs ago

  17. @Charlie WalksonWater – I did the same. Born in SW PA, grew up in So Cal, then lived in Hawaii San Diego, Nevada and Eastern Washington. I’m now back home and I don’t mind the winters at all. Of course, it helps that I am retired and can just stay home if the weather outside is frightful. So far it hasn’t been. I enjoy the change of seasons. And my little corner of the commonwealth is conservative. Several neighbors have “Biden Sucks” and “FJB” signs in their yards. 😉

  18. Bayou yes, that Amazon facility is going up so fast the birds are caught off guard and smacking into it. The airport is still manageable thank God.

I live 5 minutes from Turkey Creek (Lovell/Pellissippi). I avoid 40/75 like the plague.

  19. Liberals seem to be an awful lot like the muslim invaders taking over Europe. They land in a country & refuse to assimilate, believing only sharia law applies & the native population must bend to their way. Liberals are basically the same, they continue to vote lefty, ruin the state, then move on to the next state. It is all part of the plan. Just my opinion.
