Human trafficking rate high in Nevada — why not more convictions?

Silver State Times: Nevada has one of the highest human trafficking rates in the nation, and yet there were no successful prosecutions of sex traffickers in the Silver State in 2020, a recently released report revealed.

The Human Trafficking Institute released a report Oct. 4 detailing the records of federal trafficking prosecutions in the state of Nevada in 2020. The state report did not take note of state-level trafficking prosecutions or state civil lawsuits.

The Nevada State Report for federal human trafficking prosecutions in 2020 notes that four Nevada-based human trafficking cases were pursued by federal prosecutors, but none resulted in successful convictions during 2020.

Lindsey Roberson, the Human Trafficking Institute’s director of legal engagement, said federal charges were brought against people, but no one was convicted. She said the COVID-19 pandemic is partly to blame, as well as the “tricky” nature of such investigations. more here

  1. And as for Harry Reid, I detest him. Sorry, but not sorry he’s dead. He won’t be controlling as many elections now. He gave us many sorry candidates, including Catherine Cortez Masto, Susie Lee, and any number of Democrat Clark County commissioners and Nevada assemblymen and senators who ended up in prison. I wonder if we can rename the airport now?

Nevada is filthy with Indian Reservations. Missing persons and sex trafficked women stats are not kept off the Res. So probably much worse than reported. I’m wondering who in their right mind would vote for Fat Bastard, the current Gov.

Probably paid to the media, to not report it.
Human trafficker had losses under Trump, they had to work to build their numbers back up.
