Never heard of snow-plow equity? The “e” word gives it all away. Equity – in this case, that means bicycle lanes should get plowed before … pick any major thoroughfare.
Broadway, Hyde Park Ave., Centre Street, Comm. Ave., Blue Hill Ave. … forget about it. Equity demands that bicycle lanes be cleared first, because, well, it’s a lotta fun to ride your bike on an icy street. Very safe, too. more
Plow the right side of the road, where the bike lanes are, first. Now where the hell do you put the snow when you start plowing the rest of the road?

Picture this scene:
A Perfectly cleared sidewalk and bike lane. People walking along the cleared area.
No bikes anywhere.
Next thing you see is a massive dump truck with a six foot high plow is tearing down the street and pushing a WAVE of slushy, filthy snow directly into the faces of those dumb people walking in the bike lanes with nowhere to go.
The people scramble to get away. But the wave strikes them down as the truck goes by. Then the salt from the spreader on the back of the truck rains down on them.

I haven’t been to Boston in a long time, so I don’t know the setup. However, if a snowplow can get to the bike lanes, what is going to keep drivers who want an easier drive from using them? After all, they elected Wu in the first place, so they must have an entitlement philosophy

Bike lanes ? Licensed drivers, crash & liability insurance , bike license plate , city sticker ,annual fee for bike lane usage. Equity
I live in Idaho, where the EX Mayor of Twin Falls sold off all the city snow plows because they were no longer needed due to climate change, so they say… That was a few years ago. Winter driving in that city is really nasty.
This woman has apparently never been to Boston.
There are no bike lanes in winter.
No one except a few hard core fat tire riders go out on their bikes in winter.

I thought Chinese people were smarter than that – at least I’m told so. However, they’re the first to get jabbed and put a mask on, and the last to take the mask off. So, snowplowing must be a real head scratcher for them.
