  1. “At this point, what difference does it make?”

    Seriously, this ship has sailed.
    She will be black.
    That is a given.
joe*s handlers will not disappoint the squad.

Plus the fact that we have sack-less morons afraid of their own shadow on our “side.”

It’s a done deal and I’m not sure it’s even worth arguing about?
    Perhaps on principle?

  2. Chris Plante this morning:
Joe Biden just announced that the Tampa Bay quarterback position being vacated by the retiring Tom Brady will be filled by a black female.

    That’s hilarious.

  3. This ranks at about 186 on my “Bidden” outrage meter. Who cares if the nominee is black, purple or turquoise, male/female, gay, trans, bi, cis-normative, gender-binary, left-handed, hunchback, walks with a limp, or likes jazz? That person is just replacing a brain-dead liberal with another brain-dead liberal.

And the worst pick in the world, even worse than Sotomayor (if that’s possible) will not erase Roberts on a good day or Kavanaugh on any day. Liberty is still imperiled.

  4. You don’t die on meaningless hills.

The Senate make up, being what it is, Biden could nominate Michael Avenatti (pardon him first) and he will get confirmed, that is where we are today.

I don’t expect my party to be forward-thinking but if they were I would tell them don’t piss in the wind, adopt a calm demeanor throughout the process, don’t go all hysterical on something you really can’t control (and alienate independents in the process, voters we need this November), and only pick fights you can win.

  5. The Republicans, if there weren’t so many invertebrates, along with a couple of Conservative Democrats, could put a stop to any stupid selection that would further demean one of our more important institutions

They fight us tooth and nail every step of they way. We lose ground by attrition. Time to start doing the same. A couple Pro Bono Constitutional attorneys could tie their shit up for a couple years.

  7. How blase to argue about binary appointees. Of the typical Western values peeps.

Isn’t it about time we appoint an avowed Cannibal?? A strident Polygamist? Someone who proudly proclaims he’s a Pedophile (incest too)?

I mean if the purpose is to defile the SCOTUS to erase any hope for true Justice and Rule of Law, as this country is buried in pig slop, why not do it with verve ?!

  8. I don’t think there are mechanisms in place to allow that.

And we can’t run out the clock on this one. Biden could get his pick confirmed and fitted for a robe before the next session, in October.

No, I would act the adult in the room, stay measured, and work the process so that when we have the WH and a Senate majority, we can in clear conscience, get someone like Harmeet Dhillon or Jay Sekulow fast-tracked to the bench, while wearing our best “Eat Shit!!” face to our colleagues across the aisle.

  9. Anon: “…you are not able to stop the appointment to the Supreme Court.”

Do the names Robert Bork or Merrick Garland mean anything to you? Yes, Virginia, it can be done.

member, chilluns: Even if you refuse to fight, you can always surrender. With dignity.

  11. I think Biden needs Aunt Esther from the old Sanford and Sons show as the nominee.
The hearing alone would be worth the price of admission.

Lindsey Graham, you old fish eyed fool, shut yo mouth.
