  1. No one makes love to a guitar quite like Clapton does. Be still my heart.

Secondly, he never puts himself up front. He lets others shine and has no need, or ego, to make himself the “star”.

    I’m a huge Slowhand fan.

  2. I’ve had the pleasure of seeing Eric Clapton in concert five times. The first time was in September 1974 in London at the Odeon Hammersmith Theatre. I was stationed at RAF Alconbury and offered a free ticket if I’d drive us all to the train station in Huntingdon to make the trip into London. We sat six rows from the stage. I was blown away since I had always been a fan of Clapton. I saw him three times at the Summit in Houston over the years and finally saw him at the Royal Albert Hall in London in May 2011. Unlike most performers, he is at his best when he is in front of a live audience. You become spellbound by his sheer talent when he really lets it all hang out. His brain and guitar become one entity. You can’t believe what you are witnessing and how a human being is capable of becoming the guitar. He is a gun enthusiast/collector, too!
