  1. “I’m here from the government and I’ve been living off it for fifty years while enriching myself with insider trading.”
Yes I “only” make 150,000 a year but somehow I amassed a 100 million dollar fortune.
    Bwahahaha!!!

  2. The sheer volume of partisan, unelected officials that we create with every new administration only compounds the potential for greed. I think Biden honed his grifting skills from Obama who in turn learned his from Chicago style politics. Neither of those two will ever be regarded as statesmen by historians and neither gives a shit for it.

  3. It was a bit weird yesterday when I drove across town for my first appointment.

I didn’t lose a second to heavy traffic, like usual, for a week-day morning.

Almost like it was a holiday that people weren’t going to work.

Nothing like those first weeks lock down 2 years ago. I was road king and never late anywhere I went, then.

  4. Tell the truth – has anybody EVER gotten all warm and fuzzy when received a letter from the Government? Say … IRS, DoJ, FBI, Local Circuit Court, &c.?

If you haven’t called 911 but got that official-sounding BANG on your front door?
Did you think “Thank goodness! Someone’s here who CARES about me!”

Or when the red and blue lights come on in your rear-view? Do you think “Golly! He wants to praise my good driving habits!”

Every encounter with gov’t is fraught with danger.

  5. SNS,
“I worked for the fire department part of government and people were usually pretty happy to see ME…”

Chances are, they (or some good Samaritan) called you.
My comment concerns an uninvited visit from some gov’t agency.

  6. Flatten the curve isn’t in my vocabulary or in my plans for the day. The only thing I flatten is anything in the roadway that isn’t suppose to be there, or a fly on the wall. I can’t take care of anyone else but myself and DH.

  7. During my misguided youth I often engaged in some shady activities. But now at the ripe old age of 65 and having a carry permit and live in a state with legal weed, whenever I hear a siren I do a mental inventory of what I’m carrying.

  8. …I actually liked the first part of the “Two Weeks”. I was in an “Essential Business” so I never stopped working, but the roads were all for me without even cops on them.

They gave me this special little card I was supposed to show the police giving me Special Permission if they pulled me over for daring to drive during a pandemic, but they never did.

I’m a little disappointed about that.
