Former Pa. attorney general Kathleen Kane charged with DUI after crash

By Jan Murphy | jmurphy@pennlive.com

Former state Attorney General Kathleen Kane was arrested on Saturday on suspicion of driving while intoxicated following a two-vehicle crash in Scranton, said Scranton Police Superintendent Thomas Carroll.

Kane, 55, of Scranton, was taken into custody, processed and released on general impairment driving under the influence, Carroll said. Formal charges will be filed with the court.

The crash happened at the intersection of Moosic Street and Meadow Avenue in Scranton around 6:30, Carroll said. No injuries were reported. Carroll said he was not able to share her blood-alcohol content at this time.

Kane was convicted in 2016 on charges related to orchestrating a leak of secret grand jury materials — with the effect of smearing a man who had never been charged with a crime — in retaliation against her rivals and then lying about it under oath. MORE

  1. Scranton? Perhaps the ex-AG saw the ghost of Jose Bidet’s mother, her spirit cursed to walk the foul streets of Scranton forever more, and veered off the road in her drunken and frightened state.

  2. Resignation time.

    Compromised!

You can’t prosecute people for things you’re guilty of too.

Watch how fast a cop loses his career over this kind of thing. Same thing, but worse.
