Vice News reports that recently reviewed police records show that Apple’s popular AirTag tracking devices are being used to track women across the United States.   3. These are bluetooth devices which latch onto the closest smart phone that has bluetooth activated, which then send location info through cell signals without the phone owner even knowing it. They are accurate to with 30 feet or so in most locations. Android phones have the option for turning location off. Apple products don’t give the user the option.

  4. If you ever get deep into your phone and find all the permissions and their functions you’ll be very surprised.
    My nephew is good at that and helps me get rid of them.
    I’m not talking about the ones that are easily found but the hidden, buried ones.
    It’s astounding.

  5. Different Tim – Not only that, every time they update you have to go back in to turn back off the stuff that got re-activated.

    I purposely have an Android phone and a Macbook pro laptop so they can’t ‘talk’ to each other. lol.

  6. After 30 yrs in the computer industry where I carried a Blackberry, cell phone and pager 24/7, I’ve had enough of mobile devices. Yes, I do have a flip phone but only answer it when I can identify the in coming number, if I feel like it.
