Twisted Sifter: 50 Facts About The 90s That Will Make You Feel Very Nostalgic.
Ah, the 90s. It was a simpler time, and though we definitely didn’t have everything right, I think there are a few reasons our nostalgia is warranted.
Growing up largely without the internet being a force in our daily lives seems like an impossible – but completely peaceful – reality, doesn’t it? No cell phones to glue ourselves to all day and all night, and a certain amount of innocence in our television and movies. more
With all due respect, my idea of nostalgia goes back a decade or two before the ‘90’s.
the 90’s were shit.
I wax nostalgic over the 70’s; the music was the best, if you got into college it was because you deserved it, no confusion over genders, the military was badass, women were not obnoxious or mean, TV was not crap, and gas was 28 cents a gallon.

My wife and I bought our first house in 1977 for 17,500, an old fixer upper and my current house a century old Craftsman style house for $40,000 in 1990. My parents bought a 3 bedroom ranch style house with a full basement for $25,000 in 1971. Last year, after my parents had died 3 years earlier in 2018 my brothers and I sold it for $350,000. Housing and everything was far cheaper back in the 70’s. And my dad sold gas at his Shell station for 30 cents a gallon for regular and 35 to 38 cents a gal. for the Super leaded gas. The cheapest I ever saw for gas was about 18 to 20 cents a gal. for regular during a gas war in Portland, Or. in 1972. I could fill up my 61 VW camper microbus for less than $2.50 since it only had a ten gal. gas tank. Hell, I can’t even get a half gal. of gas for $2.50 anymore. Thanks for nothing, joey.
