The Beatles have been in the news this year.
First, we got to see the four working on material for an album. It was the closest to being in the studio with the band. It was incredible to see an album being recorded from square one or sort of the musical equivalent of like watching sausage getting made. Some of these songs were released as singles, like “Get Back” and many ended up on the Let it Be album. Honestly, I did not think that these were great songs but they are part of the band’s history.
Second, Paul McCartney turned 80 last week and Ringo Starr will turn 82 in July. more
Though this fest has been going on every year for 20 years, last month was the first one I attended. Whether, as I did, you grew up with the Beatles and they were a huge part of your life or, you just enjoy some of their music, you’ll always remember attending this celebration of them. The drive up from FL and back was a headache, but the fest was well worth it. It was joyful and so much fun. Hope to see you there next spring.
