Nebraska GOP State Sen. Mike Flood Replaces Fortenberry In Special Election

Nebraska state Sen. Mike Flood won the special election Tuesday to replace former U.S. Rep. Jeff Fortenberry, who resigned from his seat in March over federal corruption charges.

Fortenberry resigned after a California jury found him guilty in the case. He has maintained his innocence and said he plans to appeal these charges, according to the Associated Press.

Flood beat Democrat state Sen. Patty Pansing Brooks in Nebraska’s 1st Congressional District, which leans conservative. more
