Coronamania And Liking America Less

Dispatches from a Scamdemic

The movie The Great Santini is a compelling character sketch of Bull Meechum, a fictional American fighter jet pilot during peacetime: a warrior without a war and therefore a misfit in polite society. At the movie’s end, Bull is killed when his jet catches fire during a practice flight. Before his aircraft crashes, Bull skillfully, heroically maneuvers the plane away from peoples’ homes, saving lives.

At the conclusion of Bull’s graveside memorial service, his fellow fighter pilot, Col. Virgil Hedgepath, concisely eulogizes his larger-than-life colleague by saying, “I’ll like the world less without Bull. It’ll be a duller, more colorless place.”

After seeing how so many people have overreacted during the Scamdemic, I’ll also like the world less: Canada, Australia, New Zealand and much of Europe, but especially the US, because I’ve seen American Coronamania up close. I say this sincerely and literally, without intending any of Col. Hedgepath’s tribute.

  • Many Americans have shown that they’re gullible group-thinkers who lack critical thinking skills.

It was obviously scientifically unsound to begin, even for “for two weeks,” locking down hundreds of millions of healthy people—for the first time in history—in response to a respiratory virus, to mask an entire population, to test, on a mass scale, healthy people—with a test that delivered 90% false positives—and to require young, healthy people to take unnecessary, often damaging shots, when the virus threatened only a small, clearly identifiable, older, unhealthier slice of the population.

The media’s fearmongering and the internal inconsistencies, arbitrariness and cynical opportunism of the government’s lockdowns, masks, testing and “vaccine” policies couldn’t have been more obvious. Some, like me, said so. But a majority embraced and aggressively promoted this lunacy.

  • Many Americans are mentally ill.

Many Americans are detached from reality. It was clear in March, 2020 that over 99.7% of Americans under 65 were at no risk of Coronavirus-driven death. Yet, many irrationally supported closing down society, hid behind leaky masks, obsessively washed their hands well after the surface spread myth had been debunked, ordered groceries, elatedly posted Facebook photos of cards showing that they took unneeded, experimental injections, and hectored everyone else to inject. A previously veiled epidemic of American mental illness has been laid bare. Residual mask-wearing likely correlates with, and reveals, the 20% of Americans who’ve been swallowing tons of antidepressants and/or anti-anxiety meds for the past several decades. more h/t illustr8r.

  1. I used to wo4k at an aerospace company, in an Engineering eering department. You’d think these problem solvers would be immune. Nope. The whole place was literally run crazy by a frantic woman/mother, and nobody would challenge her.

  2. WE’VE GONE FULL CIRCLE FROM A COUNTRY PROUD OF ITS DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE TO ONE OF DEPENDENCE, SURRENDER AND SUBMISSION TO THE TAXINGS AND ABUSE OF THE CORRUPT GLOBALIST AND ELITIST RULERS OF OUR CHILDREN’S FUTURE

  3. Many Americans have shown that they’re gullible group-thinkers who lack critical thinking skills.

    Such has always been humanity.

In every group, half are below average. In every way. (I know, en-titled — “Not the same half. In every way.”… there’s cake in the lobby… please go help yourself… there’s nothing else for you… here.)

But, now we have “Let’s vote on it.” What? Went? Wrong?

  4. People, lemmings, deer, wildebeests, those silly fish that the whales eat, sheep, goats, ducks, geese, ants – all react the same.

When the Parisians fled before the Nazi juggernaut their countrymen stole from them, raped, extorted, cheated, robbed and otherwise brutalized them. After a short sojourn many returned to occupied Paris rather than attempt to eke out an existence among their country cousins.

Americans are no better (only in reverse). Drive into most cities and you’ll find yourself in a jungle no less dangerous than that of Papua New Guinea.

Over two years into this Wuhan Flu bullshit and even medical people are sitting around in masks that can’t stop a virus! AND they KNOW masks can’t stop a virus!

Over 200 years of socialist nonsense, which has NEVER functioned as advertised ANYWHERE, and morons and imbeciles still insist on shoving it down the throats of every man, woman, and child on Earth. Why? Because it’s a system of control – not a valid philosophy of governance – not a viable ideology – a justification for bestiality on a Global scale.

  5. There is likely a significantly sized subset of utter morons in this country who insist on wearing a mask while screwing bareback with some stranger they just hooked up with on Tinder or Grndr.

  6. My county Spokane County in Eastern Wash., (we are one of 6 Wash. counties with a minor outbreak of COVID at present) may have to go back to wearing masks again because of a supposed outbreak of COVID again. Needless to say, I am not very happy with this intrusive bullshit declaration by our govt. in Olympia. FJI! I am still not vaccinated against COVID and they can shove this unconstitutional mandate up their ass. Enough is enough of this bullshit charade of masking to prevent COVID, our state govt. needs to go away and leave us the hell alone to live our lives as we see fit.

  7. His bullet points are excellent. With some very minor tweaking they’ll serve him well if he does a retrospective on the Ukraine debacle whenever that winds down:

    • Many Americans have shown that they’re gullible group-thinkers who lack critical thinking skills.

    • Many Americans are mentally ill.

    • Americans have no tolerance for rational discourse.

    • Most Americans can’t withstand peer pressure.

    • Americans are headline readers of cheesy and plainly biased news sources, and they readily internalize slogans and labels.

    • Americans are virtue signalers.

    • Many Americans are politically tribal demagogues and closet authoritarians.

•Americans arrogantly and foolishly think humans can control everything.

    • Americans have an abiding, misplaced faith in anything military.

    • American wealth often does not reflect skill or hard work.

    • Americans are terrified of death, even to the point of wrecking the lives of many others in an ineffective response to a very slight threat to themselves.

    • Americans lack basic pattern recognition and an awareness of history or basic science.

    • Americans have a very short-term orientation and short memories.

  8. The snake is biting its own tail and wondering why it can’t get free.

The same 20% who made life miserable, many lives shorter (including their own), helped to collapse the most robust economy we’ve seen in over a half century, and caused unspeakable harm to our children, are the same ones who now lead the troupe of disgruntled “F*ck the Fourth!” crazies.

Great! Our entire country is being destroyed by depressed and anxious narcissists.

    What a world.

  9. John Eldridge wrote a book years ago called “Wild at Heart”. In it, he stated that men have three major things that make them come alive: a battle to fight, a beauty to rescue, and an adventure to live.

For a generation that has lived in greater comfort and with less real threat than any other in history, battles are scarce (and many times must be fabricated in order to be fought), beauties can be found on the internet, and adventures are lived on games consoles.

When COVID-19 came along, it provided an opportunity for a generation ill-prepared to fight, rescue and live to do all three with little to no real risk. A generation with no battle experience finally had a “real” menace to fight that could be easily defeated. A generation of men that had nothing to offer a prospective mate could finally “rescue” every beauty he comes in contact with from a virus by wearing a mask and getting the jab. A generation that never went outside and socialized finally had a “real” adventure they could live that MANDATED they stay inside and not socialize.

For the first time in forever, this generation finally had something that made them “come alive”. They won’t give it up easily.

  10. TN Tuxedo, That’s a good analysis. I remember in a college paper writing something similar about kids who become gang members and girls who get pregnant out of marriage; linking both risky behaviors to these groups’ need to create a rite of passage into adulthood in the absence of authentic necessity. There are other ways our society has bridged the gap: The Boy Scouts has (had?) such rites of passage that were solemn and admired. The Jewish religion has them (although greatly watered down and now more an opportunity for another great party). Young women moved into adulthood through the rite of marriage.

Years ago a young cousin came to a family gathering with the ultrasound images of his pregnant then-girlfriend. His girlfriend wasn’t with him at the time. He was barely needing to shave, but his manner and enthusiasm was clear. He was now a man! Obviously able to have sex and get a girl pregnant. With no father, able grandfather, older brother, uncle, or even a fatherly friend, this cousin chose his own rite of passage. The felt need in humans to move through stages of adult development are primal. In the absence of an authentic need to grow up, we continue to invent games and play at it, as children do.
