BPR: First-term Democratic Jersey City Councilwoman Amy DeGise is keeping a low profile after the emergence of traffic camera footage of the moment she struck a bicyclist with her SUV—and kept on driving as if nothing had happened, failing to stop to see if the man she’d hit was still alive.
It all happened at 8 a.m. on July 19, when closed-circuit TV cameras at an intersection on Martin Luther King Drive in Jersey City. DeGise had the green light and was traveling at a high rate of speed in her big black Nissan Rogue when she struck 31-year-old UberEats deliveryman Andrew Black and sent him hurtling into the street. more here

Understand that it was pretty much entirely the cyclist’s fault. She had the right of way. Don’t know how her speed compared to the posted speed limit but it was his fault he got hit.
However, she absolutely needed to stop. No question at all that she knew she had hit him.
Also, get a dash cam, everyone! I was fortunate that when I was sent to the ER the police report said it was entirely the other guy’s fault, but having it on video (unfortunately my cam was on the fritz) would have made it bullet-proof. You bet I have one now, about $100 and I barely have to think about it except to occasionally point it in the right direction.
Expecting human decency from a Democrat is a waste of time. They kill babies you know.

I agree, the guy was a typical big-city cyclist who feels that traffic laws don’t apply to him, but once there was a collision she was required to stop. Smart money says she was drunk.
