Just The News: FBI Director Christopher Wray confirmed with Congress on Thursday that Hunter Biden, President Biden’s son, is subject to an ongoing federal investigation and that expects the agency to “aggressively” pursue the case.
Wray declined to say if the agency is in possession of his laptop, during his testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee.
Committee member Sen. Marsha Blackburn, a Tennessee Republican, opened her line of questions saying that many Americans feel there are “two-tiers” of justice in the U.S.
“One for people that are favored and one for ordinary Americans,” she said.
Blackburn asked Wray whether he thinks the content derived from Hunter’s laptop, reportedly part of the federal investigation, is “Russian disinformation.”
Wray replied: “You’re asking about an ongoing investigation that I expect our folks to pursue aggressively and I just can’t comment on.”
When asked whether the FBI has the laptop in its possession, Wray said, “Again, I can’t discuss that, an ongoing investigation.”
Blackburn also asked Wray when he expects Special Counsel John Durham to complete his investigation into the origins of the so-called Russia-2016 Trump campaign “collusion” probe.
Said Wary: “That’s really a question for Special Counsel Durham. We are actively assisting him in that investigation.” more
