From growing up in Melbourne, Australia to topping the charts across the world and becoming a pop culture icon thanks to a little movie called Grease, Olivia Newton-John did it all. Her legendary life came to a close on Aug, 8 at the age of 73. “Dame Olivia Newton-John (73) passed away peacefully at her Ranch in Southern California this morning, surrounded by family and friends. May the Lord touch that family, give them the strength to do what must be done, help them celebrate her life more than mourn her death, and give them the Blessed Assurance that absent from the body is present with the Lord, and that all may be reunited at His feet again by and by.
And Lord, touch those who were inspired by her stuggles against the evil of cancer, let them like her thank You for those times it did not claim her and the time they had together instead, and rather than being dispirited by this news let them see it as a rallying cry that cancer will not take them and they will redouble their fight in memory of her. And Lord let all who fight cancer know beyond the shadow of a doubt that cancer has no victory, that cancer claims only mortal bodies and cannot touch the immortal soul, and that no death of body can keep their spirit from going home to You when all is said and done.
