Wind Turbines Are Destroying the Planet

FrontPage:

New York, along with other states, is moving forward with massive wind turbine projects.

The push for “9,000 megawatts of offshore wind energy” comes at a high price, not only for families who are left dependent on expensive and unreliable energy, but for the planet.

Wind turbines require massive amounts of rare earths for their generators and motors. A single wind turbine eats up tons of rare earth metals. Rare earth mining carried out in China is horrifyingly destructive to people and the environment. One story described radioactive lakes, high cancer rates and villagers whose “teeth began to fall out” and “hair turned white at unusually young ages”. “Children were born with soft bones and cancer rates rocketed.”

A recent Associated Press story about rare earth mining operations in Burma told of a world where “birds no longer sing, and the herbs no longer grow. The fish no longer swim in rivers that have turned a murky brown.”

An offshore wind turbine can produce somewhere between 9 and 14 megawatts depending on its size. New York’s goal would require a thousand offshore wind turbines. Fiberglass wind turbine blades can’t be recycled and end up in massive landfills where they remain, according to one executive, “forever”. But within the fiberglass sheath is balsa wood that can be recycled. more here

  1. Not to mention the fact that the damn things can’t even pay for themselves. It costs far more in any metric you’d care to use (money, power, etc.) to manufacture, install, and maintain them than they’ll ever generate during their life span. Same thing for solar panels.

  2. Same thing with battery operated Airhead VW Beetles. Some fag on youtube was bragging about his VW and then admitted it cost over 70,000 dollars to do the job… just to make it an EV.

Then he posted how much money he was “saving”. Those of us who can do simple math in our heads disabused him of his lies. He was such a cunt he assumed a zero sum once the job was done, and then lied about maintenance and repair.

Oh well, another communist spouting lies.

  3. I have read they also contain over 300 gallons of hydraulic and lubricating oil in them which needs to be swapped out yearly.
Ever notice the thick black smoke they produce when one goes boom.

  4. :Now do solar panels”

No shit. In an effort to cool the planet will point a whole shit load of glossy black panels skywards. I’ve read these multi acre solar farms raise the temperature directly above them enough to fry birds that happen to fly over the top of them.

  5. According to a article in Reason Mag today. America gets about 42 megawatts of power from offshore wind. Offshore wind projects currently under construction will eventually provide another 932 MW of electricity when fully operational. Another 18,000 megawatts are currently tied up in permitting battles.

  6. SMECO did a solar farm in Hughesville, MD. It was over 400 years to break even from inception. Then that shit called ice happened. Then that other shit which is ice called hail happened. Then these things called high winds. Then this shit called dirt happened. Then this shit called grass and trees happened. Then this shit called bird shit happened.

  7. How many of those things do they have to throw up before they start to slow the rotation of the earth? OK, maybe that’s farfetched, but how many thousands or millions of megawatts can be pulled out of the atmosphere before there are side effects and unintended consequences? Seriously!

  8. Don’t forget the solvent they sell as ethanol. I takes more energy to product than energy it produces. It is not green at all, it just pollutes less. 40% of Americas corn goes to ethanol. That’s a lot of tortillas.

  9. @Cmn¢¢guy ~ they don’t want to feed us…
they want to eradicate the vast majority of us to ensure that they have abundant resources
they fear the ‘common folk’ will take what they so richly ‘deserve’

you know … the eventual Morlock/Eloi scenario (the conclusion to the Communist/Oligarch regime)

  10. I don’t think most people realize how huge those bird killing, cancer causing mineral containing windmills are.
I had seen them from a distance on top of hills but a few yrs ago driving from IN to NE we drove past farm fields of them.
It was hard to watch the road because we were shocked at the actual size.

You can bet there will be none obstructing the views from The Hamptons.

Bill is right. When a Nor’easter blows through they’ll freeze along with the people who get electricity from them.

  11. We see the blade and structure components of these things being hauled up interstate 10 north of San Antonio ALL the time. Then we see the massive boneyard along 40 outside of Amarillo for the same components.
    What a great idea!
