Bed Bath & Beyond has confirmed 56 of the 150 stores it plans to close as part of strategic changes to bolster its business.

Last month, the home goods retailer announced a strategic and business update as sales continue to trend lower, which includes focusing more on national brands and push its new customer loyalty program to help bring in more customers.

The plan also includes cutting about 20% of jobs and closing 150 locations.

“There’s still an incredible degree of love for Bed Bath & Beyond,” Mara Sirhal, the newly named brand president of Bed Bath & Beyond, told industry analysts Wednesday. “We must get back to our rightful place as the home-category destination, and our goal is to achieve this by leading with the products and brands our customers want.” more

  3. It is always gratifying to see publicly traded companies aligning themselves with the woke anti-free speech intolerant mob, then get their comeuppance right smack on the fiscal bottom line. Here’s hoping BofA, Nike, Disney, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Patagonia, Starbucks, Visa, Apple, Twitter, and Facebook follow suit.

  5. I quit going precisely because they dumped MyPillow (I bought at least one of the two I own there, maybe even both). I used to go almost every week to the one that was maybe two miles away just to browse, but often buying something. Oh well….

  6. I too quit when they ditched My Pillow. The prices were getting crazy high also. I did go to the one near here when they closed up in January 2021 to get a bunch of discounted hand towels for the animal shelter.

  7. I live 8 miles from a huge mall in Canaduh.
    Bed Bath and Beyond is right next to Whole Foods so you can waste your money with little walking.
    Target spent an entire year renovating a property in the mall only to close 6 months after opening.
    It is however a good place for Kids to hang out.
    They originally built it when i was fifteen,yeah we used to hang out there.(68 now).

  15. Sorry to see investors lose their shorts, employees lose their jobs. Start firing at the very top. The top dogs accepted fully indoctrinated useful idiot Go-Wokers who infected the corporation. The top dogs need to go because they weren’t smart enough to see what was going to happen, didn’t have the courage to stop it.

  17. You can always tell when a store has gone woke, or is dying from corporate stupidity. The inventory changes, the feeling changes because the employees know the end is coming. It’s depressing, but BB&B chose woke over customers so they deserve it. Feels like K Mart just before the end.

  18. Bed Bath & Beyond has got no one to blame but their own woke-ass selves!
    My Pillow is a little different. The FBI took Mike’s phone that he uses to run his businesses, so I hope it doesn’t cripple him too much, however I would be very worried that the Fibbies or someone they leak the info to are now able to hack My Pillow screw things up!

    Oh wait… those honest boys wouldn’t do that… would they?

  20. @grayjohn:You are right. I feel the same about WalMart. The Super WalMart here in town is a disaster. They treated EVERYONE poorly during the fake pandemic. People have not forgotten about it either. Everything is locked up! Socks, underwear, T-shirts, cosmetics, diabetes supplies, batteries, on and on are behind glass cases lock and key. If you want something, you have to wait for an associate to come get what you want, they put it in a plastic case, and they hand it to you. I laughed in their face. I asked what was preventing me from sticking that small plastic case in my purse? Put it right back in their face. So, people here hate WalMart and for good reasons. IMHO, they are worse than what Kmart was when it went down. Matter of time, not too big to fail. They are NOT the cheapest prices around.

  24. Bed Bath and Bunghole was always a chinesium shithole, as far as I can remember.

    Jennifer liked the place… but I don’t really need a wall of wisks and potato mashers.

    She doesn’t understand my socket sets and wrench sets, either… I mean as far as what they do.

    If I can’t find a wisk in under 5 seconds I use a fork. But I was a prep and line cook long ago. We didn’t have time to find the green wisk. And I still do my cooking that way.

  25. I mean to convey that Jennifer DOES understand why I have 1/4 million dollars in tools. She may be confused by 12 point versus 6 pt sockets, and confused by 0 degree wrenches and 10 degree, but that\’s my job.
