Biden’s border crisis has seen a record-high number of illegal immigrants pouring into the United States, with more than two million encounters occurring across the 2022 fiscal year. As border crossers pour into the US it has sparked a humanitarian crisis that has led to historic drug and human trafficking.
“If we don’t want people here illegally then we should document them,” AOC shouted at a retired firefighter who asked, “We have foreign nationals by the millions pouring in illegally, flooding our country. You are a member of Congress. Writing our immigration laws… What will you do with the immigration law to secure the southern border?”
The firefighter also noted that 95 percent of the illegal aliens are economic migrants, which are those heading into the US for better paying jobs than their native country.
“It’s legal to seek asylum at the United States border. It’s legal. It’s legal. It’s legal to claim asylum,” AOC said in response.
“When we talk about undocumented people, my priority is about opening legal pathways to citizenship. And making sure they are open,” she said. more

Yes, it is legal to seek asylum. Coming here for a better paying job, for the freedoms (which are disappearing), are not. There is a system in place. Jumping the line is BS. I am waiting for someone to try and step in front of any “squad” member and claim asylum.
Just to make sure I understand her point: the way to solve the illegal alien problem is to declare them legal. Do I have that right?
Maybe the reason the legal way takes so long is because 1) the government has to spend so much time dealing with the illegals and 2) for the past couple of years embassies have been closed because of COVID so no one has been able to get in and apply in person in their home countries.
How many regime changes were done by the Soviets? What does US sponsored regime change in Central and South America have to do with all the people from other parts of the world coming across the border?
I agree with SNS; I am happy to spend tax dollars on shoring up the southern border.
We should also prosecute all of the “big guys” who get their 10% from the status quo.

As someone who has paid extensively into the immigration system (my ex-wife was an immigrant), I don’t want to hear a damn thing about the illegals. Fuck ’em. Those immigrants that are playing by the rules of the immigration system should be taken care of first. The illegals should be rounded up and kicked out of the country…..period.
