Kennedy holds a 37 point lead in the polls.
JTN: Sen. John Kennedy, R-La., is a slam dunk for reelection, significantly outpacing all competitors in both fundraising and public support.
While Kennedy’s Democratic challengers are predicting a runoff following the Nov. 8 primary, an October poll and Kennedy’s massive fundraising advantage ultimately make a Democratic Louisiana senator a highly unlikely prospect.
A Public Policy Polling survey of 633 likely voters conducted Oct. 10-11 found 53% planned to vote for Kennedy “if the election was today.” Former fighter pilot Luke Mixon, a Democrat supported by Gov. John Bel Edwards, was backed by 16%, while communications consultant Gary Chambers garnered 8%. Democrat Syrita Steib received 6% support, and 14% were undecided. more
Kennnedy is a rare breed; an avuncular, soft-spoken, measured, introspective representative, not prone to histrionics, hyperbole, or exaggeration. He is very likable and appears to have the pulse of his constituents.
Regarding these dopey judicial hearings, what a waste of time. The nominees know that as long as they don’t take a shit on the Senate floor and then wipe their ass with a copy of The Constitution, they are a shoe-in.
Elections matter, and when you don’t win, the opposition puts up activists like this who shouldn’t get within a hundred miles of a courtroom.
Dude a national treasure. He articulates like a Coral snake. All pretty and passive until they sink their teeth in you.
I often think term limits are a good idea, but then I remember this brilliant man who serves us with such class and elegance.
We could only wish for more of his ilk, because few candidates are up to his standards. Then again, was he always so good at this job, or has time and experiences in the senate made him this good?
