The Transportation Security Administration has released a statement after a flight leaving Cincinnati headed for Tampa was diverted to Atlanta Friday after a passenger boarded with a box cutter.
The flight, Frontier Airlines flight 1761, was diverted after a witness observed seeing a passenger with a box cutter. Passengers say the man made threats to stab someone on board.
According to the TSA’s statement, the man – who has not been identified – had a temporary Ohio driver’s license and two backpacks. Officials say the box cutters were not identified by closed-circuit television imaging, but the man’s property was identified for further searching, where the box cutter was found.
TSA said the visible blades were removed from the box cutter and the box cutter was provided back to the passenger, saying that is contrary to a standard operating procedure, which would include items being placed in checked bags or being voluntarily abandoned. more. H/T SNS.

I can’t disagree with that statement.
I went through Sacto security and Las Vegas security with a Cross knife in my purse. Yet, I was pulled aside and gone over for explosives. I thought I was going to have to submit to a pap smear the way they were treating me. WTF!

Thank God he didn’t have fingernail clippers and a Temporary Driver License from Ohio, he would be housed with the January 6th political prisoners.
Luckily TSA is investing in and adopting Biometric Technology for “identity management”, of course being mindful of maintaining passenger equitability and dignity.

That’s my airport and I’ve been through TSA there on several occasions.
If terrorists are susceptible to incompetence and understaffing, they don’t stand a chance. I’m a big, doofy White guy. myself, so of COURSE they get all up in my shoes every time I go somewhere while some Mideastern dude gets waved through A!!ahu akbaring his way merrily past the bin where I retrieve my belt…
And once again, we see that it’s a PASSENGER, NOT the TSA, that catches the bad guy. (sneaker bomber, underwear bomber)
And the TSA let this asshat on the plane with a knife, why….?
