JTN:
Opposition to a proposed ban on semi-automatic guns and certain magazines in Illinois is coming from all sides, including minority communities opposed to penalty enhancements.
House Bill 5855, introduced by state Rep. Bob Morgan, D-Deerfield, would prohibit the future sale of around 100 semi-automatic guns and the future sale and possession of magazines of more than 10 rounds.
During Thursday’s hearing on the bill in an Illinois House Committee, Live Free Illinois lead organizer Artinese Myrick said they support prohibiting certain guns and magazines.
“But we are concerned that law-abiding citizens may be wrapped up in the system if they are not able to obtain weapons through the proper channels,” Myrick said. “For Black and brown communities who are over policed, we have more individuals who are susceptible to being swept up and are forgotten in the system.” more
Stay strapped or get clapped. I was in and out of about 50 gun free zones this week end. Or so they thought.
Do they really think this is going to change what many carry and/or possess?
Tragic boat accidents for anything possessed less than ten years and before that no-one will remember who they sold them to.
I live in IL and I really don’t see anyone turning anything in unless it’s junk for hundred dollar gift cards. We collect from a number of us and send one guy down to get the cards in the buy backs in Shitcago. Give the cards to the wives for groceries (they don’t spend for ammo) and the saved money for ammo and components.
Private property range allow my crew to shoot anything they want without fear of being ID’ed.
Well it’s time to adjourn to the reading room upstairs before I go SNS on this bullshit.
Where’s my icon?!
That’s better…
Screwed up the e-mail address.
