AG | Tim Young:
An interesting and growing trend is that when leftists live a comfortable and easy life, they have to create occasions for outrage. I believe this is the root of most “Karen” culture—people who don’t really have a reason to complain, do. You can see it accentuated the most at Starbucks, where, in one out of at least every dozen visits, one will observe someone who could easily be described as a Karen freaking out about his or her drink order.
This common example of someone whining about a drink order—something easily correctable and that has no effect on society as a whole—is on par with something else I’ve noticed recently: people outraged by the treatment of a fictional character.
Over the past few weeks, I’ve seen growing outrage over the “cultural appropriation” of which the blue characters in Avatar are apparently guilty. Yue Begay, the co-chairman of Indigenous Pride L.A., tweeted: “Do NOT watch Avatar: The Way of Water. Join Natives & other Indigenous groups around the world in boycotting this horrible & racist film.” Before locking her account, she added, “Our cultures were appropriated in a harmful manner to satisfy some [white] man’s saviour [sic] complex. No more Blueface! Lakota people are powerful!” That’s right, blueface is apparently a thing now. MORE
Suck an egg, wankers.
DO NOT SEE OTTO
BAD JUJU MAN
CROSSROADS
Yeah, well, apparently the Lakota boycott is working cuz “Avatar” is sucking hind tit at the Box Office …
“Avatar: The Way of Water is on its way to becoming one of the highest-grossing films of all time, based on its earnings.”

Oops! Maybe not …
mortem tyrannis
izlamo delenda est …
Who needs it?
Reminds me of the bread and circus in Rome. Soon to be just circus.
I’m confused. Last week last month Last year Disney sucked.
Now they don’t? Movie was made in 2020 when they “sucked”. Anyway blue people, I like the Blue Man Group. 1st Avatar don’t remember it so I must not of watched it.
Controversy what isn’t these days thanks to a certain group/party that complains about everything.
Maybe it’s cuz Panty-wetting Wokesters have been screaming about being “oppressed” until they’re blue in the face…
“Immitation is the sincerest form of flattery.”
“Lakota” spokes-hole: yes, you’re exactly right. Everyone knows intuitively that the Lakota occupied an alien anet/dimension and rode biologically dubious dinosaurs underwater and in the air. The movie is just an historically accurate representation of traditional teibal life. NOT.
More fallout from the everyone gets a trophy generation
I’ve always enjoyed Planet of the Apes since I was a lad and thinking it reminded me of blacks.
My son about 2001 when he was 18 or so dyed his hair Smurf blue, he normally has light brown, blonde hair. It made him look like an idiot which his grandfather, my wife’s dad let him know in no uncertain terms. Fortunately, he grew out of his stupidity phase with a lot of encouragement from my wife and I and the rest of the family. I can hardly wait to see what kind of things my 4 granddaughters and 1 grandson do when the get to be a little bit older.
Wait a minute, the co-chairman of Indigenous Pride L.A, is named Yue Begay? Hahahaha. I had to look and make sure I wasn’t reading the Babylon Bee.
Avatar is not a Disney movie, not Disney-made, although they did sign a licensing agreement with Cameron for merchandise.
I saw Avatar 2 last week with my kid and I would highly recommend it. James Cameron has always made great movies; Alien Series, Terminator, True Lies, Titanic, and now the Avatar series.
Just from a visual perspective is worth the price of admission. I read that most 3D movies are shot at like 45 frames per second but he used state of the art never before used cameras that shot at twice the frames. You will be mesmerized by the finished product.
And “conservative” themes are present throughout; Self-sacrifice, the importance of the nuclear family, forgiveness, and respect for cultures not our own.
Weird colored hair, ear hoops, what’s next? Let me see, how about nick stretching or lip stretching enhancement? Seems sort of tribal.
Evidently a PB&J sandwich in a brown paper bag is racist. Who knew? When I was a kid….I thought it was because we couldn’t afford a fancy schmancy metal lunch box.
Inquiring minds want to know: How the Hell has White Castle escaped scrutiny???
I just last night saw for the first time an ad for “Dove Beauty Bar” showing all black women.
Yeah, well cry me a river you butt hurt squaw. The Avatar movies all suck, anyway.
Avatar The Way of Water, a film by 20th Century Fox, now owned by Disney.
Any future films released by 20th Century Fox are Disney films too.
It’s funny, because Gene Roddenberry figured out you could use aliens as stand-ins when you wanted to explore race relations that were too hot to address otherwise. Remember Let That Be Your Last Battlefield with Frank Gorshin and Lou Antonio as half-white half-black beings. Leftist are now making it impossible to use Sci-fi or Fantasy to examine social issues.
Any of you recall when films were simply escapist entertainment instead of being political statements?
I liked them a lot more then.
I thought Indians liked to paint their faces … no?
guess I’ll go boycott ‘Last Of The Mohicans’
p.s. who knew Tonto was ahead of his time?
Current indigenous people have held that they are the original people on the continent to the extent they have literally buried evidence of their predecessors as well as of other peoples their ancestors slaughtered on arrival.
Current indigenous people also appropriate our white oppressor culture persistently, both by using our oppressive gadgets and by using our systems of oppression on one another and against we white oppressors.
Avatar is a zero testosterone version of utopia in blue having nothing to do with any piece of reality, but preaching the zero testosterone utopian horseshit of the left. YAY.
Blue faced beings with pointy ears riding dinosaurs is supposed to teach me what about what?
Cameron, get lost.
