JTN: South Dakota Republican Gov. Kristi Noem is demanding answers after her and her family’s social security numbers were published online as part of the House Jan. 6 committee’s records.
Noem’s attorney sent a letter Friday to the White House, the Government Publishing Office, the National Archives and Jan. 6 committee chair Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-Miss.), asking who was responsible for the leak and what remedies will be taken to protect the governor and her family.
The social security numbers of Noem, her husband, her two daughters, her son and her son-in-law were originally written on visitor logs for the White House, which the governor said she visited in her official capacity.
The National Archives gave the visitor logs to the Jan. 6 committee as part of the investigation into the riot at the U.S. Capitol. Although the law requires personal information to be redacted before the logs could be published as exhibits, this did not happen. Gee, I remember when someone leaked the Dobbs Decision to the press before it was officially announced. Remember all the righteous indignation expressed and the promised dogged determination that the FBI would find the leaker and bring him to justice?
This is why I hate my government.
About a year ago California leaked all Carry Permit holders info to a couple law firms. They were going to get right to the bottom of it. Pfffft.
Let me try to understand this. The government requires companies to protect PII (personal identification information), but they don’t have to. In fact, if a company does publish PII they have to answer for it.

I’m not that sympathetic. If she showed concern for the rights of others, that would not be the case.
You know releasing those SS numbers just might be a state crime as well as a federal crime. If Kristi can find time away from the trans child molestors she pals around with, she just might make a state indictmenet happen.
