More than 30,700 mail-in ballots in Illinois for November election were rejected

JTN: About 30,700 mail-in ballots in Illinois were rejected statewide in last year’s November election, according to preliminary data from the Illinois State Board of Elections.

Data shows a total of more than 2.2 million mail-ballots were requested across the state for November’s election. More than 657,000 were returned with around 626,300 counted. That’s a difference of about 30,700.

Illinois lawmakers expanded mail-in ballots during the pandemic to go beyond absentee requests, allowing anyone to request a ballot. The Democratic-controlled state legislature further expanded mail-in balloting to allow for the universal option to be a standing request for voters who apply with their local elections official.

In DuPage County this past election, an election official was comparing mail-in ballot applications to verify signatures on the ballots, not the original voter signature on file with the county’s elections office. A lawsuit over the issue is pending.

On Friday, the Illinois legislature further modified the mail-in balloting law.

  1. That’s a 4.7% rejection rate. Seems like a bery unreliable system, therefore raises questions on the gace of it.

How is that distributed across and within precincts and vateee demographics?

  2. Unreliable? Hardly! If people can’t read & follow the instructions the ballots were rejected. Seems completely reliable. Thats of course your someone who promotes the theory of voter fraud with no proof just theories if it.

  3. Interesting to see assumptions about this. Without factual knowledge this could fall into different categories of right and wrong.

Many on the right would want cheaters to be rejected. Many on the left would want conservative votes cancelled no matter what.

Quite revealing to see certainty from anyone on this at this time.

  4. Illinois has been corrupt ever since the 13th precinct voted in JFK.
They elected Barry who. 4 Governors who served prison time Rod Blagojevich, George Ryan, Dan Walker, Otto Kerner. Secretary of Paul Powel who had cases of whiskey and shoe boxes of cash in his closet. Included is JB Pritzker, Lori Lightfoot, Mike Madigan, Derrick Smith, Sandi Jackson, Dixon Crundwell, James DeLeo and that doesn’t even cover the start of it.
30,700 ballots missing oh come on… don’t waste any tax dollars on that tiny problem

Exactly. They’ve also eliminated the need for campaigning. Or a political platform. They’ll decide for us. I’m not even sure it’s any longer important for us to know who’s in office.
