JTN: The Republican-led House of Representatives is voting Wednesday or Thursday on a bill that would bring more federal employees back to offices in Washington D.C.
The Stopping Home Office Work’s Unproductive Problems Act or SHOW UP Act of 2023 “requires each executive agency to reinstate the telework policies that were in place on December 31, 2019.”
Under the legislation, federal agencies cannot “implement expanded telework policies unless the Office of Personnel Management certifies that such policies will have a positive effect on the agency’s mission and operational costs.”
The $2.2 trillion CARES Act, the first of three pandemic stimulus bills, provided federal agencies with nearly $5 billion to expand teleworking infrastructure.
Federal employees can still telework under the legislation, but it would be at pre-pandemic levels, explained House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer, the sponsor of the new legislation. MORE
Just fire ’em.
We’ll ALL be better off.
Sooooo … instead of fucking off at home, now they’ll have to fuck off at work?
Be cheaper to cut em to half pay and leave em at home.
mortem tyrannis
izlamo delenda est …
Do they get a spittoon for…you know…”Man Butter” while watching porn at their desks?
Asking for some freinds…
I’ll have to keep an eye out for that.
I’ll be at work!
Mr. Beachmom gets more done working at home than in the office.
Of course, that’s not the norm.
Just look at the teachers who were “teaching” from out of state during remote school.
Govt workers should have to show up. They get paid more than private sector employees and work shorter hours for the most part. The govt wastes enough of our money without aiding and abetting their employees to waste our money by not going to work.
The real joe6pak is not impressed!
