I just read that Alcatraz was the only federal prison with hot water showers. So the prisoners wouldn’t be able to handle the cold ocean should they try to escape.
CCP sees its people as nothing more than robots, fodder for the machine. Of course the Party people are special but nobody else is – which is why they have no compunction over taking organs from some, having others as slaves.

Alcatraz has not been used (as a prison) for 60 years and it still looks better than the dorm.

Prisons were meant to be a punishment and a deterrent as it should be. Now it’s a place to get pumped up and learn lawfare.
