Nobody is nervous because nothing happens.
Accountability does not exist in the political realm. Were it so, 90% of those who occupy space in the US Congress would be in prison. Same for most state governments. Violation of the public trust, using one’s office for personal gain and accepting bribes, kickbacks and gifts for decisions on policy that negatively affects the American people should be a capital offense. It wouldn’t take but a handful of public executions to discourage such behavior. Is this a drastic measure? Sure it is, but it would certainly resolve many of the issues this country now faces. Seeing these corrupt treasonous bastards sip champagne, eat caviar and take lavish vacations on our dime is infuriating while we struggle to make ends meet at the end of the month.
