JTN-
TCS: Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey signed a bill on Wednesday that is intended to protect land from purchase by hostile nations.
House Bill 379 is known as the the Alabama Property Protection Act and was sponsored by Rep. Scott Stadthagen, R-Hartselle. The new law bans the sale of agricultural and forest land; and “critical infrastructure” such as chemical plants, electricity generation plants, airports or water treatment facilities to China, Iran, North Korea and Russia.
The new law also prohibits sale to any foreign entity agricultural and forest property and any real estate within 10 miles of a military base or “critical infrastructure.” more
It’s a start, although not sure the federal government won’t try to quash this sooner rather than later, as most land titles are title searched back to european claims so the Feudal-ral governmemt will insert itself, despite 10th Amendmemt protections.
Can they also stop Bill Gates etc. from buying large amounts of farmland? He’s just as much an enemy of the people as any foreigner is.
but, but, what about Alabama’s DEI rating = Hey ya’ll, Beverly Hillbillies say Cali-for-ni-ay is the place to be, swimmin’ pools, movie stars!
That wasn’t a law already?
