Breitbart: According to internal documents reviewed by Vice, the Department of Homeland Security in 2018 sought to develop a method for assigning “risk scores” to social media users, in a program to identify “disinformation” efforts named “Night Fury” by the DHS.
The DHS worked with the University of Alabama to develop the “Night Fury” system, the concept of which bears a striking resemblance to the Chinese “social credit” scores assigned to citizens to measure their compliance with the regime.
Vice began its investigation in order to learn more about Custom and Border Protection (CBP)’s efforts to learn more about arrivals at the border, but seem to have stumbled across a key part of the government’s sprawling social media censorship machine in the process. more
So, this man apparently has the highest “risk:”

We’re all zeros.
Welcome to the party.
if you keep your nword-ass away from me, you won’t be @ risk
DHS, What joke and waste of our $$$.
While Chinese army & spies pour across
the non-border.Baby trafficers,people
with disease are pouring in.Many babies
are undocumented and no one in this world
knows who they are or who their parents are.
They won’t look into depressed people on prescription medication – the ones who only commit 100% of the ‘mass shootings’ the left is all excited about, but anyone looking out for himself is a threat to our society.
It might work if we actually targeted things that are indicators of risk. No, of course not, government will always, always twist it for its own nefarious goals.
Proudly on multiple watch lists since 2007.
I want the DHS to engage in self intercourse.
@Left Coast Dan: While I understand monitoring depressed people on medication, I still generally oppose schemes like government monitoring and general survelliance. My rationale is that (1) if something can conceivably be abused by the government, the government will eventually abuse it; and (2) the United States operates largely on precedent, and I don’t want any precedent that could serve as a justification for more draconian policies, rules and regulations.
When I lived in SoCal, I had mostly liberal/progressive friends. When we would discuss politics, they would frequently say things like, for example “what’s wrong with enforcing limits on free speech?” My standard reply was “that’s fine – would you feel the same way if I was the one in charge of enforcing limits on free speech?” This point was almost always conceded.
Ever since I was old enough to vote, I operated under two basic principles: (1) I don’t trust the government or government officials, and (2) I don’t rely on the government for my happiness. I apply these rules across the political spectrum – Democrats, Republicans, Independents, Green Party, etc. And, with very few exceptions, I have never been disappointed in the application of these principles.
Wyatt: Herat hear.
Generally, conservatives do not want to give their like-minded officials unbridled power to do things. They know there will come a time when the other side comes into power and conservatives don’t want those people to have unbridled power.
That is unlike leftists who want their side to have such power then scream like stuck pigs when the other side comes to power and takes actions that pale in comparison.
Thanks George Bush, may you rot in hell.
Without disclosing too much information, years ago, when social media was just starting, I was working at a famous company at that time, and they introduced “user karma”, a set of processes running on a specific group of servers managed by select group of developers, leaving the rest of us out, and they were to decide which user profile was boosted or deboosted.
Effectively they came up with the concept of shadow banning, censoring and hiding content from everyone’s feed, they specified “dangerous” and “provocative” content, and also labeled users “combative” for disagreeing with certain narratives, not surprising it was mostly those who were not agreeing with stuff left pushed.
That was the main reason, along with allowing spam and harassment on the platform that forced me to leave, having psychopathic management also helped making that decision easier.
Few years later, I see the same stuff in Reddit, youtube, then Facebook and Twitter. Others also followed that.
You can bet almost all of them worked with the feds, and still do.
“must be another george bush”…when asked about “george bush of the cia” statement in the warren non-report
correction, bush was referenced in a hoover/fbi memo
If you think the Alphabets don’t already maintain a fat dossier with your “risk score” you are a fool. Look how fast they rounded up the J6 participants…
But the Pedo just announced he is “honest” in response to a question on why he takes bribes. He actually said “Show me the money” .
What a dipshit, Comer has already shown us the money. The Pedo is an absolute arrogant imbecile.
We’re all Bozos on THIS bus!
