Envolve: One of Mexico’s most violent cartels has ignited a fresh controversy by issuing threats to kill escorts and other sex workers who do not pay them protection fees. These threats have surfaced despite continuous claims by Mexican politicians of a decline in crime rates.
Recently, Cartel Jalisco New Generation (CJNG) circulated a video on social media, showcasing five cartel hitmen brandishing firearms while holding five kneeling women at gunpoint. Throughout the video, verified and shared at Breitbart News, the cartel members conveyed their menacing ultimatums.
Within the footage, the gunmen asserted their ownership over all sex work in the region, insisting that escorts and sex workers wear CJNG-issued bracelets as proof of collaboration. Those who refused to comply would face the dire consequence of death, the gunmen menacingly warned. The whereabouts and safety of the women remain uncertain. more
