Damaged Solar Panels from Hail Storm Will Likely End Up in Landfill Because Recycling Isn’t Possible

GP: A new report said that many solar panels damaged in a hail storm last month will likely end up in landfills.

Although some panels at the Scottsbluff Community Solar project in Nebraska will be usable, many will be too badly damaged, according to Cowboy State Daily.

According to CBS, more than 90 percent of panels are dumped in landfills when they are damaged, defective or reach the end of their usefulness. As of 2030, CBS said the panels will take up about 3,000 football fields worth of landfill space. more

  1. Go to any Wind Farm, those giant non-recyclable blades have a shelf life and need to be replaced periodically and they too are buried on-site and they are bigger than a railroad boxcar.
    Sustainable Power, another BIG LIE!

  2. I would like to say it’s surprising how many people still believe that solar, wind and lithium ion are the answer to “fossil” fuels – just as much as I’d like to say the general populous has a clue.

I wonder if America can recover from the state it’s in.

Probably not (initially anyway), as it won’t be allowed. I don’t plan on sitting back while that happens though.

  3. When you think about it, none of this should surprise anyone? I’ve seen this “movement” referred to as the climate change industry. What’s striking and revelatory to me is the term industry implies that the end result can be summed up with the word money.

Very little in this world is done purely for the greater good (another term that is tossed around with reckless abandon). If it were, cancer would be cured, war would be used as sparingly as possible, pictures of restaurant food would match reality, the chicken/egg debate would be resolved…you get the picture. We were foolish to allow this foolishness to be anything more than a pipe dream.

that will be the new grammar- sentences without periods
If you identify your paragraph as he/him, it doesn’t have any periods
