Halloween candy inflation is up by double digits for the second year in a row, with prices 13% higher this October compared to the same time last year, according to new data.
Prices of candy and gum in October 2022 had already increased by 14% from the previous year, The Associated Press reported over the weekend, citing data from retail price tracker Datasembly. more
By Nov 1, Halloween is old news. But holy socks, I handed out a record amount of that expensive candy last night. And many of the kids reminded me of how horrible Gen Z’er kids are at common manners and social skills. So many of them are in for a rude awakening down the road.
Kind of negates the sixteen cents we save on the forth of July hotdogs doesn’t it.
