Prolific offender arrested after deadly Seattle bus crash

PM

A motorist is in custody after a deadly crash involving a Metro bus in Seattle over the weekend.

This same individual was arrested in July for an investigation of attempting to elude police and has multiple municipal court warrants and a no-bail warrant with the Department of Corrections for escape.

On Saturday, police responded to a report of a crash involving a red sedan and a King County Metro Bus at the intersection of 5th Avenue and Battery Street, which caused the bus to crash into a building.

There was initial concern if the building was structurally sound after the impact, but Seattle Fire Department crews determined that the building was okay. MORE

  1. Put a noose around the perp’s neck, and “tether” him about 6 feet above the public square.
That will make sure that he doesn’t run off and elude the authoritahs again.

  2. That hits home:

    1. I used to be a bus driver for Metro. I wonder if the bus driver was anyone I know. A friend of mine was a safety officer but he is probably retired now.
    2. In another job, I worked on 5th Avenue less than a block away from this incident (up towards Blanchard).

Of course, with the guy’s record, he will be let out will no bail no matter what the existing warrant says. Can’t be mean to him, you know.
