In ’94 I was working in a cutlery shop. People came in looking for Chicago Cutlery knives because an article in CR had said those were the best knives. I’m sorry, but those blades were machine stamped junk, while we carried Hencels, Sabatier, and Wusthof. All hand-crafted, full bolstered and full tanged.
Then in ’95, CR rated the Dodge Dakota as the best small pickup. Over the Toyota Hi-Lux?!? My dad bought one; it lasted 3 years. My ’93 Hi-Lux was my daily driver for 23 years and still gets out on the road from time-to-time.
CR appears to publish articles that have little grounding in reality. To base a class-action law suite on one of their articles had to be a joke.

Related, we have a vendor down in Newport Beach. A metal finisher/plater. They do excellent work. HiRel electro deposit, etc. Hard to find processes.
Well The Orange County Coastkeepers has decided they must go out of business. It’s been one law suit after another. The latest is that the employees track dangerous chemical out into the parking lot and then the car tires in turn transfer these dangerous chemicals onto the street. When it rains they all end up on the Orange County Coast. I’ve been in this place. You could eat off the floor. What a bunch of dicks.
