FOX: Oakland, California can add one more restaurant to the growing list of businesses making changes to how they conduct business amid rising crime in the city.
Some Taco Bells are now closing dining rooms and only offering drive-thru service, according to reports.
At least four Taco Bells, including locations at Hegenberger Road and 35th Avenue in Oakland, have shut the doors to the indoor dining rooms, the Daily Mail reported.
While the inside portion of the fast-food restaurants will be closed, drive-thru service will continue to be offered to those craving bean burritos, breakfast crunch wraps, gordita crunches or anything else on the menu. more here
This has happened around the country, although perhaps more fast-food places have open dining rooms now than a couple of years ago. It’s the lack of ‘minimum-wage’ workers – even as that rate has increased to the $15-20 range (and even in states like SC where minimum wage is still officially the federal $7.25)
Within the last year every retail store I’ve entered here in the Bay Area, every damn one, from small dollar stores, auto parts, to the big food stores, they all have a security guard standing by the door. And sadly, they are all just for show because every thief knows they won’t do anything.
I read just this morning that Dollar Tree is closing 1000 stores nationwide, and I’m sure they are all in the big city, blue run, Soros Da’s (we see nothing) venues where everything is free for a certain segment of society.
I’m sorry, but “dining” and “Taco Bell” should never be in the same sentence.
So they’ll just rob the people in the cars/trucks.
All they’ve done is moved the goalposts.
I hope they put the drive throughs behind bullet proof glass and completely separate workers from the public.

When it impacts the fried chicken joints, then you will hear a loud uproar.
The structure must be sound. Bullet proof glass at the drive through along with level three wall structure where the poor drive through person stands.
All these defensive measures cost a bunch and only partly ameliorate the problem. With the community involved fair, consistent discipline with sure and significant punishment for misbehaviors is the proper approach. Reason is not an adequate means of dealing with the community in question, some are amenable, most are not.
Probably too much work to keep the toilets unclogged. Is that even real meat?

I remember back in the sixties going to school in San Diego there was a Taco Bell in Mission Beach and we would go down there and load up on .25 cent TACOS! We were in Heaven!
