It’s not meant to. It is meant as an attack on those who work hard and play by the rules. The left has learned that they can destroy much faster than productive people can produce and enlist each and every “vulnerable population” they identify by encouraging and then enabling them to proceed with what brought them to where they are to begin with.
They like to point out the rare, and increasingly rarer, examples who have left their prior habits behind to continue this horseshit, but if you add up the increased joy and fulfillment in these people and their friends and family, and compare it to the increased suffering, misery and death that their programs have been responsible for causing innocent people, in the aggregate the latter makes the former shrink to insignificance.
This is by design, Satan is a liar, a murderer and a thief. At the end of the day you show me a “progressive” social program without a documented history of enabling and increasing all three and I”ll show you a unicorn.
First and foremost, ever concede good intentions to the bastards. Filter everything they claim regarding their intent through the what’s in in for them lense. If it is more likely to increase innocent human suffering, misery and death then it would please their Dark Prince and therein lies their motivation.
