An American soldier was detained in Russia last week on charges of “criminal misconduct,” the US Army said Monday.
The soldier — whose name was not released — adds to the number of Americans held in Russia at a time of deep tensions with Washington over Moscow’s invasion of Ukraine.
“On May 2, 2024, Russian authorities in Vladivostok, Russia, detained an American soldier on charges of criminal misconduct,” US Army spokeswoman Cynthia Smith said.
Russia notified the US State Department, which is “providing appropriate consular support to the soldier in Russia,” and the Army notified his family, Smith said.
“Given the sensitivity of this matter, we are unable to provide additional details at this time,” she added.
When asked earlier about reports of a soldier’s detention in Russia, US National Security Council spokesman John Kirby said: “We are aware of this case.” more
This guy is either CIA or he’s the dumbest soldier in the Army. Did he think the ruskies were going to roll out the red carpet for him?
It could be an invitation for a ‘tit’ which will lead to an even bigger ‘tat from the Russians.’ (Or the CIA is setting up for a distraction…)
If I understood previous reports correctly this guy is a knucklehead went AWOL for his big adventure.
Every day is an IQ test. He failed.
Don’t worry, we’ll trade anything for a dumbest. Look what they did for BG and BB.
