CBS: Texas officials are urging coastal residents to brace for a looming hit by Beryl as the tropical storm is expected to regain hurricane strength in the warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico after it trashed Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula on Friday and battered the resort town of Tulum.
The U.S. National Hurricane Center predicted that Beryl would regain hurricane strength Sunday before making landfall in the middle of the Gulf Coast of Texas the following day, bringing “dangerous storm surge, flash flooding and strong winds to Texas overnight.” The latest forecasts indicate that landfall will happen early on Monday morning, before Beryl turns northeastward and moves farther inland over eastern Texas and Arkansas late Monday into Tuesday, according to the hurricane center. more

I live in the northern part. The hurricane is pushing out a high pressure area, bringing cooler temps and a chance of rain. I hate it for you guys in the southern part, but it is helping our area.
Here in OhStink, TexAss, Weather Underground, (the prognosticating offshoot of the terrorist organization,) was predicting about three inches of rain for central Tejas as of a couple of daze ago. Now they downgraded our deluge to about three-tenths of an inch over the next week-and-a-half.

My friend in Houston says they expect a Cat 1 after landfall, and for local flooding but mostly over by tomorrow evening. His plant shuts down at 11 as people dont want to work in a storm, power can be uncertain, and theres no trucks, but unless it stalls he really doesnt see it as a big deal.
We are in the path. And then we aren’t. The predictions are all over the friggin place. Pray for us if you’re the praying kind.

We may get hurricanes, but Galveston/Houston has NO history of earthquakes, so pick your poison.
We are on the edge of the path so we will get a bit of a storm, but hopefully not too bad.

As of July 1st, all of the models had the H hitting Mexico. Ventusky had it hitting Houston. I think there is a possibility that the “cabal” uses Ventusky to telegraph their intentions. Been other anomalies see on there.

Having lived 26 years of my life on the east coast of Florida and 5 of those years in the Keys, I went through my share of storms including [foolishly] staying for Hurricane Jeanne in ’04 in Vero Beach. The walkway for the 2nd floor apartments collapsed just outside of my first floor bathroom where I was huddled with Teddy my dog. Storm surge came right up to my sliding door which faced the intracoastal waterway about 5 feet above sea level. Minimal flooding though and most of my damage was from the bedroom window blowing out.
My prayers go out for all those in the path including my sister in Pearland TX.
The salt water is now in front of my house.It is 3″ deep.The water has come around the 6 mile 40′ high dyke! I am at 17′ above MSL.
Nothing but wind & clouds over in the Austin metro. They’ve even pulled the rain out of the forecast.

Mrs. RMM and I were looking out the window when 2/3 of 50 foot tree crashed down (not towards the house).
The area we live in is nicknamed “The Livable Forest.” It looks very nice, but considering how much comes down every time the wind blows, it is amazing there are any trees lift.
