DEIR AL-BALAH, Gaza — Hamas has given initial approval for a U.S.-backed proposal for a phased cease-fire deal in Gaza, dropping a key demand that Israel give an up-front commitment for a complete end to the war, a Hamas and an Egyptian official said Saturday.
The apparent compromise by the militant group – which controlled Gaza before triggering the war with an Oct. 7 attack on Israel – could help deliver the first pause in fighting since last November and set the stage for further talks on ending a devastating nine-month war. But all sides cautioned that a deal is still not guaranteed. MORE
We’ll just use it to rest and rearm.
Just like always.
How many times do we need to touch that hot stove?

Fool me once, shame on you.
Fool me twice, shame on me.
Fool me again and again and call me Jackass Joe!
They are returning every hostage?
Hamas and US negotiating is completely meaningless. Although Israel is mentioned, I don’t see that they are an active part of this negotiation.
Speaking of Gaza XM’s satellite old time radio station has a Stan Freberg marathon on right now with the first episode being the battle between the 2-rival casinos in Vegas the El Saddam and the El Gomorrah trying to outdo each other with bigger and better acts including bringing in the Gaza strip and its war in front of a live audience followed by a live performance of the Hydrogen bomb in front of a million people from the other casino. They both end in total disaster, but this is one of Stan Freberg’s all time funniest comedy programs ever. I love good humor, and this is some of the best ever. The Abominable snowman is on now and I need a good laugh.

Hamas can’t return what they don’t have. They turned their Israeli hostages over to the Palestinians and did not keep records of who went where. My guess is most of them have been tortured to death. I don’t see Israel coming to a cease fire table until Hamas is wiped out.
The Palestinians had about 90% support of Hamas this time last year. I have seen conflicting reports of there only being 20% to 35% support now. The support for Hamas will get lower the longer this drags out.

The various “women’s rights” organizations silence fully informs anyone who actually wants to gauge their sincerity. There isn’t a single of the ones that are part of the progressive vanguard that has any sincerity whatsoever.
It’s a genetic problem, they’ll be back.
They’re “willing” to talk of compromise now because they’re asses are being handed to them by the IDF.
Seems to me that Hamas is in no position to demand a Goddamn thing at this point.
My inclination is that the Hamas would just as soon GTFO with all of the money they have sucked out of the American taxpayers and not come back and that it is the rest of the progressive movement that is dug in and wanting to keep things going.
