Monkfish aka dogfish, are scary looking.
They are edible.
Usually on daggers when they catch haddock, cod, pollack, etc the fishermen stick their fingers in the mouth to hold the fish so they can gut it it before tossing it in the hold.
With monkfish however the fish have teeth like a dog so the fishermen poke their fingers through the eyes. Can’t stick their fingers in those teeth.
Early teens swimming in St Clair River when I dove in off a dock and came around a group of pilings and was face to face with a sturgeon as big (probably bigger) than myself.
A dolphin jumping out of the water had nothing on me. Never exited water that fast before or since.
The blobfish looks kind of badass in the water, but how they look on land is a pretty good representation of my mood most days. 😬
Maybe dont make me think of the smell of seafood surrounded by Kamala Harris threads.
