Pennsylvania: Rumored migrant shelter in Chambersburg stirs up controversy

(The Center Square) – A rumored migrant shelter under consideration in Chambersburg, Pa., has stoked controversy as local officials mull zoning issues and community concerns.

The Greene Township Board of Supervisors said Monday that there is no imminent proposal, nor have they been told to expect one.   1. The old SSVC (Scotland School) has long been a target of rumors for strange outcomes, among others a Muslin Vacation Center, A Jewish family camp, and now this about migrants.

    The area is beautiful with mixed use zoning, A beautiful golf course, and park with above average housing.

    Chambersburg (with it’s heavy hispanic/Mexican population) has often been a target for resettlement.

    The lower part of the County is mostly warehouses along the 81 corridor.

    We are overwhelmingly conservative Republican (75-85%) so it would make sense that an infusion of new voters would be desired by The butt-hole governor.
