Fluoride in Water Poses “Unreasonable Risk” to Children, Federal Judge Rules

(The Defender)—In a decision that could end the practice of water fluoridation in the U.S., a federal judge late Tuesday ruled that water fluoridation at current U.S. levels poses an “unreasonable risk” of reduced IQ in children.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) can no longer ignore that risk, and must take regulatory action, Judge Edward Chen of the U.S. District Court of the Northern District of California wrote in the long-awaited landmark decision.

More than 200 million Americans drink water treated with fluoride at the “optimal” level of 0.7 milligrams per liter (mg/L). However, Chen ruled that a preponderance of scientific evidence shows this level of fluoride exposure may damage human health, particularly that of pregnant mothers and young children. more here

  1. How long have we been drinking flouridated water? Now we’re supposed to be concerned? C’mon, do your own research, people. Fuck these “studies”. It’s all about manipulation and power.

In the meantime, these assholes include all of us in the average American test group, along with Michael Moore. GMAFB

  2. Fluoride attaches itself to receptor cells in the body which are meant to capture nutritional iodine. There’s another substance in store-bought bread that does the same thing — replicates iodine (I can’t remember the name of it). Iodine is necessary for a vast number of healthy physical developments Probably the most known iodine-deficient problems are goiter and thyroid abnormalities. One answer was for iodine to be added to salt (“iodized”).

If there’s anything good that has come out of the Great Covid Scare, it’s bringing people to their senses about taking medical advice from unscientific, corrupt bureaucrats who are rich because they push Big Pharma.

  3. In early 1965 in Orange County California, people on pro and anti-fluoride sides would get into heated, probably sometimes physical arguments regarding fluoride in tap water. I read accounts of it in the local newspaper and discussions on TV.

I was too young to take sides then, was unfamiliar with the issue, and just thought it was a thing adults were concerned with, but it looks like the anti-fluoride folks were on to something. I believe they saw it as federal and state governments meddling in people’s lives. Yeah, they had it right. But the pro-fluoride side won that battle.

  4. If you’re drinking unfiltered tap water, you have the exact problem that fluoride causes. A counter top water filter that costs $70 can remove 99%+ of fluoride along with numerous other contaminants.

It’s literally the best $70 you can spend.

  5. It is a naturally occurring element in many groundwater sources. As a water system operator, I’ve actually added fluorosilicic acid to enhance what was occurring naturally to bring the fluoride residual up to the recommended level. It was always added because the community wanted it. We have went from the American Dental Association recommending it for decades (I think they still do) and kids getting fluoride rinses in school to it’s poison. Reality is probably somewhere in between.

  6. Look at a map of blue precincts and a map of homes that have fluoridated water supplies. It’s the same map.

This will get overruled. The government will never stop fluoridating. They want the population to be stupid.

  7. The AMA “recommended” getting the vax, wearing masks and social distancing.

There are many studies that show the higher and longer the exposure to fluoride, the lower the IQ.

Almost 90% of the “community” I live in got the first covid shot.

Naturally occurring fluoride, when it does occur, can found at the barely measurable concentration of .1mg/l up to an undrinkable 50mg/l. Municipalities maintain a level of around 1mg/l. No thank you.

I’ve been using baking soda, salt and H2O4 to clean my teeth since my grandmother showed me when I was 10 years old. I’m in my 70s and have all of my teeth and no cavities.

The fluoride added is fluorosilic acid which is a coproduct left when manufacturing phosphate fertilizers. I’ll take a pass on drinking it.

  8. There’s lots of required nutrients and minerals that are toxic if you get too much of them. Fluoride isn’t actually part of tooth enamel. Hydroxyapatite is a calcium mineral. Fluoride treatment assists remineralization to fluorapatite, which is more acid resistant. That remineralization doesn’t necessarily require you to ingest fluoride. It can be applied to the teeth directly via toothpaste or a dental solution, without swallowing it.

All Dr. Strangelove jokes aside… Fluoride exposure above a certain level damages childhood development, specifically IQ, but there’s quite a bit of nuance to intelligence. We’ve been putting fluoride in our water since about 1945… I don’t suppose any of you have noticed anything unusual about the children born after 1945…

  9. “There’s lots of required nutrients and minerals that are toxic if you get too much of them.” So you’re saying fluoride is a “required nutrient”?

Please link me to one human biologic process(IOW a process that are necessary for a human to live) that requires fluoride.
