WAEX: Country singer-songwriter and actor Kris Kristofferson died on Saturday at his home in Maui, Hawaii. He was 88 years old.
His wife, eight children, and seven grandchildren confirmed his death in a statement on Sunday.
“It is with a heavy heart that we share the news our husband/father/grandfather, Kris Kristofferson, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Sept. 28 at home. We’re all so blessed for our time with him. Thank you for loving him all these many years, and when you see a rainbow, know he’s smiling down at us all,” the statement said. more here
Sorry to hear this. I always enjoyed his low-key way of doing things. Now I’ll go and watch one of my favorite B movies, Semi-Tough. Great cast!

Kris, I’d also like to thank you for finding John Prine and introducing JP to us and his music as well in the early 70’s. You both were fantastic singer song writers and great musicians. And how many other country musicians and actors were ever US Army Officers and helicopter pilots prior to the Vietnam war. You did a great job Kris, thanks for all the music over the past 50 years.
Music included, he had an interesting life. A lot of 60s and 70s icons will passing of old age about now.
I’ll buy a box of 12 Krispy Kreme donuts and eat them all for dinner tonight as my way of honoring the life of Kris Kristofferson.
I’m kidding – I liked everything he did except for the time he made out with Barbra Shitstain. How he navigated around that long schnozz and find her lips is a mystery.
He died at his home in Hana, Maui. This is very nice little community on Maui’s east coast. Charles Lindburgh in buried there. Maybe that’ll be Kris’s final resting place as well.
So can anyone tell me why one of the world’s oldest stoners in Willie Nelson is still alive? Give up the weed Willie, you’re far too old for that shit anymore.

Godspeed, Kristoffer Kristofferson. I watched him and Waylon and Willie backstage at Red Rocks decades ago when we were all younger and not nearly as wise. Best concert and party I ever spent in my misspent youth. Loved him in “Blume in Love” as Elmo Cole. He was a very talented man.
