Marine veteran sentenced by Russia for being Ukraine mercenary

Marine Times: MOSCOW — An American who spent three years behind bars in Russia before being released in a prisoner exchange has been convicted in absentia for fighting as a mercenary in Ukraine, Russia’s Investigative Committee said Wednesday.

The committee, Russia’s primary criminal investigation authority, said in a statement that Trevor Reed was sentenced by a Russian court to 14-and-a-half years in prison. more

  2. At least he was lucky enough to be taken prisoner and luckier to be swapped. Those poor US army fools running the Patriot batteries over there just get vaporized. And not even a dignified transfer of remains at Dover for them. Ditto for our “advisors” and “trainers” who thought they were safe in Western Ukraine.
