Scientists have solved the 500-year-old mystery surrounding Christopher Columbus’ final resting place.
The team spent 20 years performing a DNA analysis on human bones found buried in Spain‘s Seville Cathedral, confirming with ‘absolute certainty’ they belonged to the explorer who died in 1506.
For the past two decades, they have been comparing DNA taken from the samples with that of relatives and descendants.
The findings come just ahead of the U.S. holiday in his name, this Monday, timed to the second Monday in October each year to commemorate the Italian voyager’s Oct. 12, 1492 discovery of the ‘New World’ for Spain. more

Since Columbus is on par with Hitler and King Leopold (if you are not familiar with this guy, Google him, what a piece of work) as the most evil characters in history, I doubt Hollywood would touch him.
