DOJ Sues Virginia Over Order Removing Illegal Aliens From Voter Rolls

DC

The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) sued Virginia on Friday over an executive order removing illegal migrants off the state’s voter rolls allegedly too close to Election Day.

Republican Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin signed Executive Order 35, which codifies election security measures including voter list maintenance, on Aug. 7. The lawsuit alleged the Virginia State Board of Elections and Virginia Commissioner of Elections Susan Beals violated the federal National Voter Registration Act (NVRA), which says states may not clean up voters rolls 90 days before an election. more

  1. I believe it’s about time that states simply ignore the fed DOJ. When they sue, take the papers, and toss them into the “file without reading” bin. Don’t take their phone calls, and make sure appropriate voice mailboxes are full. When a hearing or trial is scheduled, don’t show up.

Simply stop playing their games by their rules on their turf. I think the phrase du jour is ghost them.

  2. The law appears to be made to enable cheaters. Why else would you have a deadline to remove fraudulent/illegal voters.
The “Republicans” can now say they tried but unfortunately, that law thing ya know?
It’s been 3 years 11 months since the last Presidential election and they wait until now? WTF!

  3. Concur with Different Tim 6:54p.m., the law should allow removal of illegal alien voters up to and including while their “vote” is being counted. And, yes, you read that right: remove the voters.
