Despite receiving windfalls in funding from the U.S. and Western nations over the last two decades, the Lebanese Army is too weak to stand up to the terrorist group Hezbollah, further straining an already conflict-ridden country, according to The Wall Street Journal.
Hezbollah has been one of the main actors stirring up chaos in the Middle East over the last year, launching routine attacks against Israel and raising threats against U.S. forces in the region. Lebanon’s armed forces are separate from Hezbollah and have failed to contain the terrorist group, even after receiving more than $3 billion in funding from the U.S. and West since 2006, according to The Wall Street Journal. more
“…Lebanese Army that’s too feeble to take on Hezbollah”
…uhhh, while weak they may be, I think the relationship between they and Hizzy is kind of like our FBI and Antifa.
The strength of your army is irrelevant if you and your “opponent” are on the same side…
Has it actually gone to the Lebanese government and people, or as with Palestine has the terrorist organization simply taken it for their own use?
Should we be sending them anything???
Hundreds of billions of dollars have been stolen from US taxpayers and they are too feeble to take on Washington DC.
Like every goddamned one of these horse shit “foreign aid” schemes, not ten cents on the dollar actually gets anywhere near the stated objective and that is 100% by design. It’s a money laundering operation and everything used to validate it is nothing but pretext.
Wait…Just last week, I was told by Israel that Nabih Beri, who has been in Lebanon since the Crusades, and who currently runs Lebanon, had called for a ceasefire, which Hezbollah had also agreed to honor, allegedly because they’d been dealt such crippling blows. And just yesterday, I was told by Israel that Hezbollah only had 20% of its missiles left, although I was not told how many missiles Hezbollah had started with.
And now Israel says it is pulling back from southern Lebanon, and “Mission Accomplished”, when the truth is that it ran into a brick wall, despite thousands of blown up pagers and tons of bombs raining down on Beirut and Hezbollah positions in southern Lebanon.
So please forgive me for my skepticism when I hear the geniuses of our FoPo, through their WSJ mouthpiece, blaming the Lebanese army for failing to stand up to Hezbollah, despite our dumping money and weapons in Lebanon for decades. It is patently obvious that the “Lebanese Army” is nothing more than a money-laundering operation and armaments black market run by the deep state portion of our MIC, with kickbacks for everybody concerned.
It is also obvious to anyone who is even slightly interested that the Ukraine scheme was built on this business model, for which the WSJ wholeheartedly and mindlessly cheerleads. If we had a government which stopped throwing money snd guns to every shady enterprise in the world, to no apparent purpose, we might be spared these regretful whinges from allegedly intelligent journos about our impotence. Sure, a few hundred warhawk American politicians would not be getting their kickbacks, and a few corrupt industries would not be getting their contracts, but it’s a price I am willing to pay.
We are getting smoke blown up our asses by both our enemies and our allies about what is really happening in the world. And our own media is probably blowing more smoke than any of them. Discount 90% of what they all say and assume the opposite of the other 10%. You’ll be much closer to the truth.
Itz called: “Anything to loot the Treasury and make America weak!”
This administration has turned the Treasury into a carnival side show!
“Step right up! Take all you want!”
Politician to politician: Hey, the taxpayers still have some money in their wallets. Just today I actually saw a couple of them go into a McDonalds and order a hamburger! Let’s figure out a way to get some of that money!!!
Like thr Ukraine $$, you can be sure most of ot made a u-turn back into thr likes of Pelosi’s and Liz Cheney’s pockets.
