‘Junk DNA’ is bunk! Why the human genome argues for intelligent design

Blaze

In my quest to learn the ins and outs of the orthodoxy of evolutionary theory (and therefore bring to light its deficiencies), I discovered geologist and lawyer Dr. Casey Luskin, associate director of the Center for Science and Culture at the Discovery Institute.

A proponent, researcher, and advocate for intelligent design, Dr. Luskin has been defending academic freedom for scientists who face discrimination because of their support for ID for nearly 20 years.

I’ve written about it here before, but I shared with Dr. Luskin my personal skepticism concerning the religion of evolution. As a layman (relative to him), it seemed to me as if Evolution™ had an “invisible hand of God” problem that’s never been seriously addressed.

The mythology of Evolution™ seems to have a beginning (the Big Bang), an end (modern Homo sapiens), but no middle. And as I came to understand from my conversation with Dr. Luskin, much of the evidence for evolutionary theory amounts to flimsy, tenuously linked assumptions on the verge of being disproved in various fields.

We began by discussing one of the more popular arguments against intelligent design: the concept of “junk DNA.” more

  1. Things that make you go, “hmmm.”

Also shows a predeliction for “scientists” to look for evidence in support of their pet theories. Everyone else needs to realise that a theory is just a theory, not a law, and keep working with the science.

  2. The THEORY of evolution has always been complete garbage. All one has to do is consider the true miracle of DNA. The complete instruction set needed to physically construct a human being (and all other creatures on an individual basis from the dawn of time) is contained within the single cell that we all started life as. The information necessary to construct the physical bodies made of bones, muscles, optic nerves (and the vision that accompanies them), brain functions, lungs, heart, etc. is a true miracle in itself.

The incredibly flawed theory of evolution as it is currently presented is nothing more than the futile attempt of atheists to explain God’s miraculous creation without giving HIM credit for his obvious work. The exquisite design of the DNA that creates and sustains all life is proof that there is a God – the design was perfect from the start. Such a perfect design could not possibly, randomly evolve over eons of time to create the perfect forms of life we see with our own eyes every day. Much less what we call the indomitable “human spirit” (I believe God’s spirit in us at an individual level) that human beings possess.

  3. The result of the scam known as Evolution is that Satan not only hates God, but he hates God’s creation of man as a sacred entity.

In order to destroy the sacred, Evolution was born to relegate man to a worm crawling out of the primordial scum. Man is not sacred since we are just scum.

Mankind is sacred because all of God’s creation was brought into existence by his words except Man. When God created Adam, he took the dust with his hands, formed man and breathed his spirit into him, thus giving him life. Eve was then created by God taking the rib from Adam himself and forming Eve. We are all sacred, which Satan hates.

  4. If I’m a cop and in the course of my investigation of a murder I come up with evidence that Suspect A did NOT commit the crime, then without evidence that Suspect B did it, the elimination of A does not prove that B is the culprit. Or C. Or D…

There is a lot we don’t know. Be this as it may, disproving various hypotheses about evolution is not evidence for Intelligent Design.

Find some mention of dinosaurs in ancient texts, or fossils of golden nematodes or unkangaroo bones in the Middle East, etc. — without coming up with an imagined evidence-free hypotheses.

  5. I am currently rereading GK Chesterton’s The Everlasting Man again. I need something good to read and reading GK Chesterton always makes me think about God as the ultimate creator every time that I read his books, his essays which are still spot on 100 years later and his poetry.

  6. When I was a High School Sophomore, back in the early ’70s, I had an interesting discussion with our science teacher about how old the Earth actually is. I pointed out that current archeological dating, based on the ‘known’ half-life decay rate of the radiocarbon isotope, Carbon-14, subsequently extrapolated back through eternity, was completely built around the speculative assumption that Carbon-14 (discovered in 1934, more or less, and postulated as an age marker in 1949), had a consistent decay rate extending billions of years into the past. The total elephant in the room, of course, is that such a consistent decay rate is absolutely unverifiable, thereby calling any kind of accuracy from using it as a dating mechanism any further back than 1949, into question. Hmmmm.

Our subsequent discussions on the Theory of Evolution also dove into further highly questionable ‘scientific’, often contradictory, assumptions, which, upon review, simply did (nor do they) hold up to critical, objective, scrutiny.

It was fun…I very much enjoyed debating Coaches double-dipping as science & math teachers!
